Hello M2010 eject problem: I have no idea how that other person's solution would answer your problem but i also have a m2010 and by press on a door will not make it eject because it isn't a normal laptop cd/dvd drive....it has to flip up by a motor turning a axle and then the disc has to be pushed out by the control arm....just like a cd player in your car....sorry to say you have to take it apart some...dell havs a tear down manual for it

There is a manual eject slot on the side of the CD changer. You will need a small flat head screwdriver or a pry tool to insert into the slot.

This machine was designed for Vista and I am not sure that XP has the required drivers to load the mother board correctly.

The system, if configured to boot from the CD/DVD drive should take most of the OS before it seizes up.

A dvd is stuck in the drive. It resists all attempts at removal including the ''eject cd'' command in Open Firmware. Can I manually remove it?

The iMac (Slot loading) computer's disc eject mechanism is electrical instead of mechanical. To eject a CD-ROM disc at startup that contains system software, press the mouse button until the computer ejects the disc. If the disc does not contain system software, wait for the iMac to start up and drag the disc icon to the Trash.

If either of these steps fails to eject the disc, push the drive's manual eject button with a small, blunt object like a paper clip. This button is located to the right of the CD/DVD slot as shown in Figure 1. The computer must be turned on to eject a disc in this manner.

Once the disc is ejected, it extends just beyond its center hole so you can remove it from the drive. If the disc fails to eject, while holding in the paper clip, use another CD to gently push against the inserted CD. This gentle pressure may help to release the inserted CD.

Important: After ejecting the disc with the manual eject button, you must restart the iMac in order for the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive to work.

Dvd burner/ cd rom drive not working

Sounds like a failed optical drive as it was requiring more power to operate normal. Will it even open if you try the software method (right-click on the drive in My Computer and select Eject)? You could also try manually ejecting the tray if there is a manual eject hole you can insert a straightened paperclip into. You will most likely need to replace the optical drive.

Sometimes if you shut off the vehicle, then continually press the eject button, while you start it, and continue to press the button, until the radio is on for a minute, it'll work. Other than that, Sorry. Best wishes to you.

Your CD-ROM may still be functional. The tray may just be stuck, instead of broken. First let's remove the CD.

Get a large paperclip and bend the end out straight. Look for a tiny hole underneath the CDS tray. Push the end of the paperclip into it, and it should open the CD tray a little. Then pull it out the rest of the way and get your CD out. Then try pushing the eject button on the CD-ROM to get the tray to go back in. It may take several trys. If that does not work push the tray in, slowly. Then try the eject button again. I hope that works.

If it does not you can continue to use the CD of course (lots of CD-ROMs have paperclips hanging out of them. And I've seen the problem go away, occasionally, after continued opening and pushing back the tray.

Cd wont eject.

I was having the same issue with my KD-S5050. I also tried the CD eject lock reset with no results. By using the following steps I was able to reset my CD player and it is working properly again. On page two of the user manual is shows how to do a full reset of the cd receiver. While holding SEL (Select), press ATT (Standby/On Attenuator) for more than 2 seconds. This will reset the built-in microcomputer. http://www.fixya.com/Brands/J/JVC/Manuals/kd_s5050_cd_d2ce2654fa2aab37f3ad2b4ce1e33443/images/KD_S5050_CD_D2CE2654FA2AAB37F3AD2B4CE1E33443_2_p2.jpg NOTES: ? Your preset adjustments ? such as preset channels or sound adjustments ? will also be erased. ? If a CD is in the unit, it will eject when you reset the unit. Be careful not to drop the CD.
