Can not change keyboard language setting?

My keyboard is set to a language other than English and I can not figure out how to set it to English. I can not use the slash or question mark keys - keyboard is set to accents over Es and As. Can anyone help me figure this out? going in to language options and setting to United States English etc does not have any effect. thank you.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

How to change the language back to english

From the Home Menu swipe down to get the pull down menu. Select the gear on the right hand side which is Settings. Select the Language option which you'll probably have to figure out by translating the word Language to whatever language the tablet is current set to.. If the menus are in the same order as in English it should be immediately after the Keyboard option which you may have to translate to the tablets language. The first option under Keyboard sets the language for the table. Select the first option. If those options are in English select English.

How do I change to English on a 1450

Setting the Languages
Touch : Tools> Settings> Language
.
Voice Language-change the language for voice prompts.
Text Language-change all on-screen text to the selected language.
Changing the text language does not change the language of user-entered data or map data, such as street names.
Keyboard-select the keyboard for your language. Touch Mode on any keyboard to change the keyboard language.
restore-restore the original language settings.

My dell laptop type wrong letter

Hi,
The standard keyboard language and widely used setting is "ENGLISH (US)"
Set the Keyboard layout to English US so that you have standard keys for symbols etc. like @ sign with SHIFT+2 etc.

The keyboard layout / Language of your PC may have been different (other than English US), so follow these steps to select the International keyboard layout:

- Go to Control Panel - Regional and Language settings
- On the Keyboards and Language tab, click Change keyboards.
- Click Add.
- Expand the language that you want. For example, English (United States).
- Expand Keyboard list, select the United States-International check box, and then click OK.
- In the Default input language list, click Language name - United States-International (where Language name is the language that you selected in step 4), and then click OK two times.
- In the Regional and Language Options dialog box, click OK.

The above steps would change the Keyboard Layout settings to 'English US' and you would be able to type @ sign with SHIFT+2

Hope it helps! Good Luck! Thanks for using Fixya!

The @ sign appears when i press apostrophy?

If you mean "open quotes" (shift and figure 2) then you're probably set up as a US keyboard (the default Windows setting) rather than UK keyboard. This is because the keyboard layouts are different. If this is not the case, your keyboard may be faulty.

These are instructions for Windows XP. I'd recommend running System Restore first, to create a restore point in case you mess up.

Go to Start > Control Panel > Regional and Language Settings to see a table headed Regional and Language Options. Under the Regional Options tab, check you have selected English (UK) and not English (US). Use the drop down box to change if required.

Next, click the Languages tab, click Details and check that English (UK)-UK is the default. Click Apply and OK on each window to exit, then restart the computer.

The Language Bar may appear as an EN next to the systray. If you click on it, you can hide it if you want to.
