Want to change 377 battery in Embassy Men's Watch but don't know if back snaps off or screws off......seems like it should be more obvious than this. Can anyone help?

Casebacks can be attached in several ways. The most common is a snap-on type. The back will be smooth and if you look closely around the edge you should see a small slot somewhere along the edge where you can insert the edge of a caseback removal knife - it looks like a small oyster shucking knife - to pry the case open. The caseback me be very difficult to snap back on and require the use of a caseback plier or pressing tool. If the caseback is held in place by screws, you can carefully unscrew them using a good quality jeweler's screwdriver. the real cheap mini-divers will bend and scratch the watch. Another common method is a screwdown caseback. You will see indentaitions on the edge of the case back to recieve a caseback wrench to unscrew it. If your watch is water resistant, don't forget to replace the gasket as they are only good once. Most watch shops will replace the battery while you wait for about $8 so that may be your best bet.

I need to open the back of a Rolex Submariner replica watch. Can you give me information on the proper way to open the back? Thank you in advance

Most people dont have a "rolex" case opener laying around their house! :-) That caseback probably screws on...sometimes they dont! Look for a small notch on the edge of the caseback, if you find it then it will pop off with a small knife! Just be careful not to cut yourself! :-) If its a screw on caseback then you really should take it to a reputable watch repair shop!

How to change the battery on a Sector 600 series watch

Open the caseback. Undo the battery contact. Get the battery out. Memorize all the writings on battery and buy exactly the same one (do not mind the manufacturer).
Install the battery. Put the caseback on.

Watch stopped running

Examine the caseback of the watch. You will find the lip (small gap between the case and caseback). This is exact point where to insert watch openers blade and pry caseback up.

If caseback is without grooves, it is snap on caseback and you have to insert openers blade under the lip and pry up. Lip is the tiny gap between the case and caseback.
If you have groves in caseback, it is screwdown caseback and you will need special opening tool. Insert the blades in to the grooves and unscrew the caseback.
You can find this tool on eBay.

I have a cheap pocket watch that needsa new battery, and i do not know how to open it. does not look like the kind of back that wil pop off, could it be a screw on type?

Pocket watches are 99% with the back snap-on/sanap-off opening. Never came across the screwback. Get the knife with the solid blade, insert the blade in the groove between the case and the caseback and push it in quite hard using lever action (pry up). At the same time make sure the blade do not slip into the movement, as it will damage your watch.
If there is no groove between the case and the caseback, then watch must be opened by removing bezel (metal ring holding glass in place). Open the same way as for the caseback, just be VERY carefull, as any slip of the blade will leave the marks on dial.

CH2301 battery replacement. How open compartment?

There are 2 ways that Fossil closes the caseback on their watches.  It is either a 'pop-off' caseback that you will need to pry off.  Get something very small and thin, such as a small flathead screwdriver.  There is usually a small groove somewhere around the edge of the caseback where you can insert the blade.  The other type screws off.  You will need to unscrew the caseback.  You can determine if it screws off by looking for 6 notches around the outside edge of the caseback.  You will use these notches to insert a tool to rotate the caseback off.  Without a specialized tool called a watch-wrench, I suggest bringing it to a store such as Precision Time or Tourneau.

Trying to replace battery in Kenneth Cole C275-04-KC3522

You need a watchmakers knife or caseback opening tool to open your watch.
1)If your watch has screwdown back, there should be grooves in caseback where you have to put in opener and unscrew that caseback.
2)If your watch has a 'clip-on' caseback, you have to carefuly examine the caseback and find the groove between caseback and watch case (it is called 'the lip'). This is the right point where to insert the blade of wtchmakers knife and open it using pressure and lever action.
3)The safest, but dearest way is to visit your nearest watch repair shop and ask for battery replacement. You may ask the watchmaker to show you how to do that, so, in future you can do that yourself.

Replace the back of a dkny watch after replacing the battery,

For closing your caseback you need the man with very strong hands first, but it might not work as some casebacks can be closed using special tools only.
Before you visit the watchmaker, try this: first of all open your bracelet by taking out spring lug. This will make more space at the back. Then take watch caseback and check for groove in it. Align that groove with stem (pin going into watch movement) and deepen grooved caseback side as it should be. Then without turning caseback apply great pressure with both hands to the watch(from caseback and dial sides). If hands are strong enough, caseback should snap on into place.
In case if it doesn't work, find a piece of thick leather (wide mens belt will do) and place it on completely flat surface (table top). Place the watch face down on that leather, adjust caseback groove with stem again and try to press caseback down with both hands, only this time using your weight.
If all mentioned above doesn't work- you have to go to see watchmaker.

Good luck.
