The motor bearings need machine (like sewing machine oil).
Try a quick spray of WD40 or Liquid Wrench, but use machine oil, soon.
Look for an "oil hole" on top of the motor; there may be two of them.

Sounds to me like the belt is too tight and not grabbing, the squealing noise is the sound of motor pulley spinning on the belt. This could also happen if belt is worn out. I'd try adjusting the belt. Hope this helps.

Loud squealing ta start up

There are a few moving parts (spin at power up) inside your laptop. They could be the fans, the hard drive, or the DVD/CD drive. Need to locate the exact location where the squealing is coming from.

Our new colman mam 3 airconditioner vibrates loudly on hi cool could you tell us what could cause this please kind regards Dennis

I'd remove cover on roof and observe (carefully, with breaker shut off inside) blades on condenser fan as well as blower while spinning slowly first, and look for possible bent blade on rear fan blades, or even a mudwasp nest on either. If it happened immediately after installation, perhaps the small weights on blower wheel have come off, or shifted. At worse you may have a faulty or loose mount or bad bearing in fan. If it's been running good for a while, probably a nest has been added. Careful when taking cover off, for wasps, or yellow jackets under cover. If not obvious when spinning slowly by hand, stand back and have someone turn it on to see if you can determine where trouble is when running on high.

Squeals heard from my fridge compressor

hi there,
what you thought of the sound is correct. the compressor might have gotten a little rusty after running 24hrs. if turning it off helps then do so but make sure you have everything important removed from inside the fridge. solving this problem can only be done by a repairguy as it has to be opened up.

My whirlpool freezer fan is making a loud squealing sound when its on. do i just order a fan and thats that? or do i need to troubleshoot?

Good day,
No. it's a common problem. Just order a new motor (make sure you get a new blade at the same time), and install it.

My aprilair's humidifier motor began to make loud squealing noise

Put some lubricant, oil, WD40, etc. on shaft of fan. Spin the fan with your finger and work the oil into the shaft until the fan spins freely again. Reassemble and problem will be gone for 2-3 weeks. Repeat again until you want to replace the fan motor.

Might be the fan bearings are going bad and letting the fan wobble abit on start up. Check for cracked fan blade, or loose.

Outside fan does not spin and a loud screeching sound coming from

Hey there, sounds like the bearings seized in your fan motor. You need to replace the fan motor. If the compressor runs without the fan, th pressures build up and if they reach an extreme point, the compressor will bypass internally, creating a loud sound as the high pressure is released to the low pressure side. I would turn the thermostat on and stand by the outdoor unit as it start. Leave the disconnect on the wall readily available so you can quickly turn it off. If the compressor sounds ok when it starts up and runs for a couple seconds, turn it off right away and replace the fan motor and you should be good to go. If the compressor sounds bad or real noisy immediately at start up, the fan motor not working killed your compreesor. You would need a motor and compressor, might as well replace the unit at this point if you are paying to have it done. Let me know if you need anything else
