Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

2 Answers

We have a Canon Photo All-in-One PIXMA MP 610 less than a year old connected to Apple IMac. We ran out of ink on the yellow, blue and magenta and replaced them. The printer works when we copy a document but puts any document to be printed in a queue. Now we have a back up of printing jobs. In trying to delete these printing queues, I have displaced or erased the printer icon on my computer.

Hi,

Go to Apple Menu → System Preferences → Print & Fax and you’ll see a list of available printers in the left sidebar. Select and drag your preferred printer to the desktop to automatically create an alias of your printer. Now when you wish to print a form or document on your Mac, simply drag and drop the item to the Desktop Printer icon for a quick print job.
Depending on your printer model, double clicking the Desktop Printer will open the printer options allowing you to view the print queue, pause or delete a print job or access printer utilities.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

I have tried deep cleaning several times on my Pixma iP5000 but can still not get the blue and magenta colours. Thr printer has been stand still for approx 4 years. Black and yellow works fine.

You need to replace the print head to fix the problem. You can't let ink printers sit for years. Especially when the print head is a part of the printer and not the cartridge.

Usually I see that when you put in photo magenta when it should be plain magenta.Otherwise you need a new printhead.

I've been doing a great deal of printing with very much left to do. All of a sudden, this afternoon, the prints are all coming out purple.

Most likely you ran out of ink. Canon uses separate cartridges for yellow, magenta and cyan.

Check your ink levels. If the ink is okay, your print heads might be the problem.

Good luck

Problem with color quality - Canon PIXMA iP4000

i had this problem... its the ink! Check you are using magenta and NOT "photo magenta", and also that you are using "cyan" and NOT "PHOTO cyan"... basically photo cyan, photo magenta and photo yellow are not designed for the ip4000, if you check the smallprint on the box it does not list the ip4000.

This exact problem happened to me and it was driving me crazy. I think the "photo" versions of the inks are for printers that take two tanks of each colour, and the photo version is used for very subtle colours... so if you are ONLY using these inks, photos will appear washed out, yellow etc

Magenta printing as yellow

Well, first off, are the alignment, and nozzle check sheets looking good? If not, then work on that. If so, then we have a problem. Try creating a test sheet in Word. Make red, yellow blue & black text and see if anything else prints wrong. Get back to me!
