Canon Powershot S5 IS Outside Pics turn out white...
My Canon Powershot S5 IS does not seem to be functioning correctly after my recent cruise to Mexico... I did shoot some movies and changed from Nighttime to Portrait to Landscape during the trip. Near the end of the trip, pictures that I took outside were barely visible and most white. Inside pics turn out fine... I have tried browsing the manuals and adjusting the settings, but still no luck... Any suggestions or anyone with similar issues?

Hi there its a chance of sersor damaged. He not able to read the light. Thats why outside image are over exposed. I suggest you visit service center for check or repair the lens sensor.Thanks.
you might want to get that checked out or you can try to go to options and pick color then go down to brightness then put it all the way up then get out of that then go to settings and to color and say color on you might just g=have your camera set on blackand white.
the image is all white or has lines through it.Definitely sounds like a repair issue, and has been a previous problem with the camera in the past. There is a defect in the sensor of the camera, and happens quite frequently in this model. I would try and contact Canon about it, and see if they'll repair it for free. If not, its probably going to cost more than the camera is worth to repair it.
Hi!
I had a similar problem with my powershot A430 recently. I took it to a canon service center and they identified the problem as "shutter unit problem". My cam was under warranty so they fixed it for free and also replaced my lens (even though i didnt ask for it!). :-)
Take your cam to canon; they will fix it. All the best!
