Question about Carrier XHB123D X/Y Series Heat/Cool Air Conditioner

2 Answers

Carrie Furnance will not power up. When I turn my thermostate to heat or off it goes blank. It works on central air. I checked the breaker and it is on. I made sure the switch is on at the furnace. There is a twist in fuse next to the switch I will replace this today. Not sure how to tell if there bad. What other problems could this be a cause from? Any help will be grateful! This furnance is only a few years old. MIght be still under warrenty.

I had a problem like this and I don't know about you but the furnace would turn on ocassionally maybe every 3 or 4 hours. We changed the thermostat and it still did it so we called out the place that installed the furnace in 96 and he found the furnace in ignition lockout he said that the control board was dusty and this was causing the furnace to not get the signal from the thermostat. It happened all of a sudden so this could be your problem. You might want to see about that.

Check the thermostat and make sure the fan switch is set on "Auto". If it is set on "ON" the blower will run constantly.

Intertherm e2eb 015ha

let me guess.....its electric, right? could be so many things! do this first. turn power off. check all wiring for burnt or broke wires., usually at connections. next turn system on. does blower stop running and then breaker trips? if so its blower motor or blower relay. if blower and wires are ok then problem is probably a broken heating element.

RUUD Air Conditioner not turning on

Need to check the breaker to the unit at the electrical breaker box. You should have a dual 60 amp breaker that runs the unit. Also if you removed the front of the furnance on the inside the system will not work unless the front of the furnance is on. There is a safety switch that will not allow the system to run with the door off. There could be the problem if the breaker is on and electricity is supplied to the unit that switch may be out and need replacing. The furnance is operated on 110 volts the condensor (outside section) operates on 240v you need to insure that the proper voltage is supplied to both.
Since both units work together yet operate seperately if the furnance comes on and the condensor doesn't then there is an electrical problem at the condensor (more than likely the contactor switch) if the condensor comes on and not the furnance then there to is an electrical problem (either 110 volts not supplied) or the switch to the safety cut off is bad. Now if neither furnance nor condensor comes on there could be improper power to both or a bad thermostat since the thermostat activates both furnance and condensor. Good Luck on repairs

No heat through vents

Does your condo have more than one thermostat? if so there are powered dampers that open and close to direct heat where it's being called for. You may have dampers stuck/inoperative.

You need to make sure that both sides of the heat kit are coming on. One of the heating elements could be bad. Turn the power off and remove the heat kit. Check and see if there are any visible breaks on it. Also, when the unit is running, take a volt meter and check for voltage to the heat kit. You can also do a continuity check to see if the heating elements are good. Good luck.

Rheem Central Air united stopped working, no hum but power is there

It looks as if the 24 signal from the thermostat is not getting to the contactor. Or possibly the coil in the contactor itself is dead. Or a third option may be a bad control power board in the condensing unit itself. If you feel comfortable reading through these devices comment back. PLEASE REMEMBER THERE IS HIGH VOLTAGE INSIDE THE CONDENSER AND A CAPACITOR.

Central honeywell air conditioner

Sounds like it may have lost power. Check the breaker and the fuse at the furnace. If they are all in the on position and working then it sounds like you may need a technician. If the display is blank on the thermostat you may also want to replace the batteries.
