Question about Samsung NC10-14ROBL Notebook

Screen problem NC10, vertical 'strip' in middle of screen

I have an NC 10 which worked fine the first 7-8 months. Then all of a sudden a screen problem occurred. This concerns a problem with the middle one-third of the screen, vertically. It seems that in this middle section 1 in 10 pixels or so is displaying the previous screen. So if I start up I see a slightly darker strip in the middle, if I start an application I can see for instance a previous dialog box shining through.

The strangests thing is that the problem is mostly there, but not always, sometimes it flickers on and off, completely unrelated to what I am doing at that specific moment.

Any suggestions?

Sounds like the display is bad and needs to be replaced.

My tv was working fine till the hole screen shirnked to one lil strip in the middle how can i fix this?

Your TV unit has become victem of vertical collapse, a name obviosly choosen due to the picture shrinking down to a horizontal strip due to the vertical IC becoming faulty. Replace the verticalIC and check the surrounding capacitors and you should be fine.
Otherwise take it to a repair shop and they will be able to repair for you. I hope this helps. Good luck.

Crash and blue screen with error message

You would first need to make sure Windows does not restart automatically when a blue screen error appears. Then you can analyze the problem and fix the cause.

Have a look at BSDO error fixing.

It sounds like a vertical deflection problem. You mentioned you had a white HORIZONTAL LINE in the middle of the screen. If this line runs from left to right across the screen it's in Verticla deflection. If it runs from top to bottom, it's in Horizontal deflection. I am assuming the problem is a Vertical deflaecion problem. The repairs necessary are most likley to replace the vertical capacitors or the verticla deflection chip.

Picture problems

If the line goes across the screen you have a loose solder joint on the vertical output IC. I've seen this happen many times in Zeniths and a lot of other sets. If the IC is not loose then there is a loose solder joint somewhere else in the vertical circuit. These IC's are 10 - 13 pin chips that operate the vertical deflection on your set. I feel like a drop of solder in the right place will fix it! Stargazer
