Question about Dryers

1 Answer

My dryer is a front loader that is about three years old. It's leaking condensation when I open the door and it puddles underneath it. It takes a couple hours to dry a single load of clothes.

How to take apart a whirlpool gas dryer

If the dryer is a front loader and if a top filter in filter it has two screw take them out and in front where top and front put a screw driver and pot the top up. When top came up on the side at top they are 5/16 screws take them out some of the front just slides up and off but if it has a full front door open door and on ea. side they are three screw take the top screw on top of the three screw out and slides door off and unhook wire on door switch on top of door. Look under drum and see how belt go on pulley so when you go to put it back on you will know how to. Take belt off pulley and drum and pick up on drum and pull it out and there is motor and gas heater and roller in back of wall now you have it apart.

I got a Whirlpool AW Z 865 dryer. It is a condenser dryer and the water is not going up to the collecting bucket, but remains below and then leaks out and floods the floor when I open the little pull door...

I had a similar problem with a Whirlpool AWZ 8578 Tumble Dryer. The solution was to clean the fluff out of the rubber grommet in the drain hole under the left front of the condenser. Then the water from the condenser could run into the collection container underneath.

I have an Amana side by side refrigerator model SXD225SW and the other day water began leaking from underneath the refrigerator. As the couple of days have worn on, it seems as though the amount of water...

Hello,

Move the refrigerator out from the wall and look for the location of the leak.

Step 2
Check the side panels and the seals around the door for beads of "sweat." This could indicate a condensation problem.

Step 3
Check the floor. A puddle there could indicate a missing or cracked drip pan, or a leak in the water line that feeds your ice maker.

Step 4
Check for water seeping from the front of the freezer or the refrigerator. This could indicate your defrost drain is plugged or your ice maker is leaking.

Fixing a condensation problem
Step 1
Check that the doors shut correctly. Hold each door about halfway open, then let go. If the doors don't shut completely, adjust the screw legs on the front of the refrigerator so the unit tilts back a bit. With adjustable pliers, turn each leg one revolution clockwise. Recheck the doors and, if necessary, repeat the process until they shut securely.

Step 2
Inspect the door gaskets. Look for debris that may keep the doors from shutting. Also check for cracks or gaps in the gaskets that could allow the cold air to seep out. If you find debris, clean the gaskets with warm, soapy water. If you find cracks or gaps, you'll need to replace the gaskets (see How to Fix a Refrigerator That Cools Poorly).

Step 3
If your refrigerator is equipped with a door-frame heater that evaporates condensation, make sure the heater is turned on. The switch should be located with your other refrigerator controls

Hope this helpout......

empty the washer. then remove the bottom panel of the machine.put some water in it and see if the water is leaking when it is filling or full.I have seen a small hole in the tub just behind the bottom counter balance where the mounting bolt goes you may need to use a small mirror to look under there.f94b104.jpg

Water leaks from the front door. it leaks at the bottom of the door and puddles on the floor. Do I need a new gasket that seals the front door??

If you have a leaking FRONT LOADER, the following link explains how to access and inspect your washer for leaks:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3576656-washer_leak__front_loader

In the majority of the cases with front loaders, the door bellow begins to leak. A routine inspection of the seal perimeter will tell you if there are any rips or tears. If the bellow is damaged, it must be replaced. The following link explains how:

Replacement parts (if required) can be purchased at any of the following websites:

searspartsdirect.com
pcappliancerepair.com
appliancepartspros.com
repairclinic.com

All these sites are reputable and offer great service with competitive pricing, so shop and compare. The first three sites I listed also include helpful exploded view parts diagrams to assist you in locating and properly identifying the parts you need.

Follow the tips in the links provided and make sure you inspect all the drain hoses, drain pump cover and tub seals as well.

If you have any questions, please post back and let me know. I hope you find this information helpful.

Moldy smell in front load kenmore washer

I had the same problem. Have you cleaned the filter under the front panel? Simply remove the three screws holding the panel below the door and remove the 2" white screwcap. Be sure to have a basin handy to catch the water. (possibly a couple of gallons if the stainer is really clogged) I suspect you'll find several moldy items that are causing the odor. Good luck.

AJ...the only thing that is going to cause this is a blocked vent or pinched vent hose. You need to make sure that all the venting is clear to the outside.
