Question about Welding Tools
The 3 reasons which will cause the infamous red light of death to come on and the machine not function, is because of over/under voltage protection,( make sure you have adequate voltage to the machine) thermal protection (because the duty cycle was exceeded), or mosfet failure. Assuming you have the correct voltage, and the machine is cold, try opening the case. Attached to the aluminum heat sink housing the mosfet transistors is a small button sized metal pill with 2 wired attached to it. This is a bi-metallic thermal fuse, when it gets hot, the contact points inside will open up, and cause the machine to shut down. Check for continuity, because sometimes these contact points inside dont re-align correctly, and your machine thinks its always too hot. If you plug in the machine, and it seems to work, but when you key your plasma torch, everything shuts down and the red light comes on......then theres a good chance the mosfets are gone. When they go, there paired off in series of 3, Chances are youll need to change all 3. Hope this helps........

Hi, this could be the air pressure is not high enough or set too low try setting the correct bar pressure on the gauge to the recomended value which is on the spec plate or somewhere on the machine. Usually this is between 4 & 7 bar

The MIL turns OFF after the engine is started if a diagnostic fault is not present.
The MIL remains illuminated after the engine is started if the control module detects a fault. A diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored any time the control module illuminates the MIL due to an emissions related fault. The MIL turns OFF after three consecutive ignition cycles in which a Test Passed has been reported for the diagnostic test that originally caused the MIL to illuminate.
The MIL flashes if the control module detects a misfire condition which could damage the catalytic converter.
When the MIL is illuminated and the engine stalls, the MIL will remain illuminated as long as the ignition is ON.
When the MIL is not illuminated and the engine stalls, the MIL will not illuminate until the ignition is cycled OFF and then ON.
