How do I operate my Toshiba laptop camera

hi,
normaly, if the system was installed by the seller, you should have a little program to make it work, but if you installed your own OS, you may have to see if the cam is well recognized, in hardware administrator (no yellow triangle)(to know the name of your cam, you may find it in the USB hardware list, or in video and audio hardware list, and the go to the cam constructor site) whatever, go to toshiba site and go to support pages to find the right laptop and download latest drivers for you OS

Installing Your Digital Camera Driver on Your Windows Computer To transfer digital camera photos to your computer, you need to install the camera's driveron your computer. You can install a driver fairly easily on a Windowscomputer, and that driver lets you access your digital camera photos onyour computer. To install the driver:
91394.image1.jpgenlarge.gif Enlarge1Choose Start→Control Panel→Printers and Other Hardware→Scanners and Cameras→Add an Imaging Device. The Scanner and Camera Installation Wizard opens with the Welcome screen, as shown in this figure.
91396.image3.jpgenlarge.gif Enlarge2Connect your camera or card reader to your computer (placing your camera in Connect mode, if necessary). You can probably connect your camera by using a USB cable, as this figure shows.
91398.image5.jpgenlarge.gif Enlarge3Select Automatic Port Detection in the wizard (see figure), then click Next. The Camera Selection window opens.
91400.image7.jpgenlarge.gif Enlarge4Select your digital camera make and model in the Camera Manufacturer and Model lists; then click Next.If your camera or card reader isn't listed, install the driver from the disk that came with your device. Place thedisk in the appropriate drive and click the Have Disk button. Thewizard walks you through the process.
5Turn your connected camera on. Click Next. The Installation Wizard now asks you to name your device.
91402.image9.jpgenlarge.gif Enlarge6Type a name for your camera or device. Click Next.Choose a name that makes sense to you, or the camera's make and model.
7To complete the Windows installation process, click Finished.

I have a creative webcam ,when i connect it to the system,it is not being detected, i dont have drivers also, the drivers are beinginstalled automatically, but afterwards ,installation incomplete it is...

Hello!
1. I would like you check if there are any previous installed drivers for your camera. Please, follow these steps:
  • Start>Control Panel>Programs>Uninstall a Program; try to find your camera in the list: a) if it is not there, then it is not installed; b) if it is there, please uninstall it: click on the camera name to highlight it, and then click Uninstall/Change, restart your computer when uninstalling is done.
  • Also check following: Start>right click Computer>Manage>Device Manager; try to find your camera in the list of drivers-if not there, it is fine; if it is there, please, right click on it, click Uninstall, wait until done and restart your computer.
2. Now you need to download driver for your camera:
  • Go to this link: http://us.creative.com/products/welcomenew.asp?category=218
  • Click on Support>click Web Cameras>choose your camera from the list and click on it.
  • NOTE at the bottom of the page: "If your product is not listed above, please click here."
  • After you click on your product (the camera you have), please click on "All downloads" at the right bottom of short listed downloads for a product.
  • Review list of downloads-drivers and applications, download driver (!) and also some applications if you need.
  • Double click on the downloaded file and click Run>Continue/Allow. Wait while installing is finished. During the installation you might need to plug your camera if prompted.
  • After the process is done, unplug your camera and restart computer
  • It should work now.
  • I also recommend you to follow steps from 1.b. and go to Device Manager, find your camera driver in the list, right click on it and click Update. If driver is Updated you will have to restart.
Regards!

1. Download the latest Chicony (or Suyin) driver for Windows 7. Check here: http://support.asus.com/Download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=Camera&p=3&os=)
2. Extract contents to desktop.
3. Click the ORB button. right-click on Computer and select Properties.
4. Select Device Manager.
5. Click on Imaging Devices to show the name of the webcam.
6. Right-click on the name of the webcam and select Properties.
7. Go to the Driver tab. click on Update Driver. a new window should pop-up.
8. Click 'Browse my computer for driver software'. select 'Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer'.
9. On the next window, it'll give you the current driver. click 'Have Disk'. click Browse. Browse to the desktop and select lastest driver that you've downloaded. it'll be then added to the list of drivers. select the new driver and click Next. Just follow the prompts so that it'll install the new driver.

If still this does not work, try this:
Re-install the camera virtual camera using your ASUS hardware disc and follow this step.

1.Insert ASUS hardware disc and "open"
2.Click "explorer"
3.Click "software"
4.Click "camera", then choose and click chicony folder
5.Open the folder APPLICATION/installer, and re-install the ASUS virtual camera.

Once you already installed the driver, go to start menu click or type ASUS lifeframe then open it.

Why do not detected my web ***

Hello!
There are several causes to camera not detected error. Are you sure your camera is installed at all?
Let's see because we have to uninstall it anyway: Start>Control Panel>Uninstall a Program
See if your camera is in the list
  • If yes: click on your camera name in the list and then click Uninstall/Change. When done, restart your computer.
Please, make sure your camera model is supported by your Operating System:
    1. See which is your Operating System: Start>double click Computer>Properties and the first in the list is "Windows Edition" under which you can see which is your your Operating System.
(Also run Windows Update/System Update which u can find by typing one of those into Start search box+Enter. If any updates available, install them and restart computer.)
    2. See your camera System Requirements: go to your camera's manufacturer's website, Click Products, choose your product and model, and they see your camera System Requirements. Which Operating Programs your camera works with? Do you use one of those?
    • If yes, then your camera can work with your Operating system and you do not have to change it.
    • If not, then your camera cannot work with your Operating System. Sometimes it works if we run update camera driver (only after installing the camera): Start>right click Computer>Manage>Device Manager and find your camera in the list, right click on it, click Update. When update done, and if updated, restart your computer. Go to Installing a Webcam.
  • If you do not find your camera in Control Panel>Uninstall a Program, then your camera is not installed on your computer. Go to Installing a Webcam.
  • Installing a Webcam: Insert camera driver CD, plug your camera if prompted, run Driver icon from the CD, Continue/Allow, and finish installing. Unplug your camera and restart your computer. I would also recommend checking for camera driver update (see above). When update finished, and installed updates, then restart your computer.
Regards!

Cant find web cam on my acer aspire one

Go into the device manager and see if its listed in there. If its not then go here:

http://gd.panam.acer.com/home/

Choose netbook, aspire one, then whatever the model number of your laptop is, then you will see a list of all the hardware in your laptop. These are the drivers for your hardware.

Look for the camera in the list and download the software and install it. If you see more then one listing for the camera, download and install each one.

Hopefully the camera will install properly. If it doesn't then the built in camera is bad and would need to be replaced.

An elderly woman in my building gave me a digital camera, a Vivitar Vivicam 3750, a battery recharge pack and a USB cord. She does not have an installation disk (and has no idea what that is) and I want to...

Windows will recognise the camera as a storage device without any drivers or installation disks being installed...just plug it in, turn on the camera and wait till windows recognises it...it will then appear in My Computer as a new driver (E:,F:.G: etc etc).

Right click "My Computer" and choose properties.

Click on "Hardware" from the tabs up the top, then the "Device Manager" button

Click on your computer name (top of the tree list) and you will notice a new button apear up the stop (scan for new hardware)...click on that and then follow the prompts that come up (Found Hardware Wizard)..

Also you can go to

http://www.vivitar.com/support.php and search for your camera and grab whatever software came that was with the camera
