How to edit picture?

Hi

You don't say which operating system you are using.

Photo Editing requires Photo Editing Software.

To do basic photo editing (cropping, rotating, flipping, adjust brightness, adjust contrast, adjust image size, adjust colo(u)r, adjust exposure, adjust size, adjust red eye) you can use free, built-in software that comes bundled with Windows and Microsoft Office such as: Paint, Microsoft Picture Viewer and Windows Photo Gallery.

In increasing order of editing functions:

Windows Photo Gallery: Fix > Auto Adjust, Adjust Exposure, Adjust Colour, Crop Picture, Fix Red Eye

Microsoft Office Picture Viewer: Picture > Brightness & Contrast, Colour, Crop, Rotate, Flip, Red Eye Removal, Resize, Compress.

Paint: Image > Flip/Rotate, Resize/Skew, Crop, Invert Colours, Adjust Attributes, Clear Image, Opaque.

In Paint you can also use additional tools to manipulate the image or add or delete shapes, text and colour (with a selection of writing or drawing implements): Free Form Select, Select, Fill with Colour, Magnifier, Brush, Text, Curve, Polygon, Rounded Rectangle, Ellipse, Rectangle, Line, Airbrush, Pencil, Pick Colour, Eraser/Colour Eraser.

In Windows Photo Gallery you can view and edit the same image in either of these 3 programs by clicking Open.

For more advanced photo editing, you can use the bundled software that comes with digital cameras such as:

Adobe Photoshop Elements

ACDSee

Picasa

Photo Studio

For more advanced, professional standard photo editing you must buy expensive Photo Ediiting and Graphic Design software such as:

Adobe Photoshop

Adobe LightRoom

Adobe Illustrator

Adobe InDesign

CorelDRAW

Corel Painter

I hope this helps.

When I turn on my camera and look at the screen, the colours are off and almost seem like they are bleeding together. However, when I take a picture it's worse - the pictures are warped, colours are very...

It could be 1 of 2 issues:-

1) Make sure all your settings are on Auto and try again. It may be currently set to a specific scene setting which is distorting your photos.

2) It may require a firmware upgrade. That will involve going to the Olympus website, following links to support/downloads and checking to see if there's an update for your camera.

Cannon MP600 will not print accurate photo colours

First clean and align the printer correctly.

You will need to ensure that you have selected Photo Glossy Paper for best results. You will also need to adjust the gamma settings and also play with the colour saturation controls to achieve a good colour balance that you are happy with.

Try printing a basic colour additive chart and comparing screen against printout and adjusting settings as required.

Also have a look at myPANTONE colour splash to get the definitive Pantone Colour Mixes at

or use a paint tool or PhotoShop etc to create solid colour blocks of basic colour to compare against.

How do I balance colour on the printer for photo printing?

Have the photo printer run a test/alignment page.
Make sure you are not running out of one color.
Anytime the image runs heavy on one color typically means another color is empty or low and not blending properly.

You can also check the settings to see if it is printing in Draft/Normal/Best Mode. Depends on the settings and application used to control this. Best uses more ink and of course provides the best image. Photo quality paper if you want the best looking pictures. Printing on standard bond will cause some bleeding and saturate the paper. (Looks feels wet) This will give the image a slight blurring dull look.
Depends on the quality of the paper used also.
Hope this helps!

Trouble printing to photo paper

The paper you print on is not relevant. What happens is the green tint is the actual printer delivering all the colours to give a 'composite' black. On shiny photo paper this is emphasized where as on plain paper the colour is absorbed and shows as intended. So what can you do? Move away from black and go for a tint such as sepia.

Incorrect colour is printed

I would try to replace the printhead and the magenta cartridge at the same time. Lots of people with leaky cartridges have this same symptom only, it is with whatever color is malfunctioning.
