Question about Amana ACD2232HR Side by Side Refrigerator

Freezer nor refridgerator is cooling

I arrived home from work and found water on the floor of the kitchen at the bottom of the refridgerator. There has been a clicking sound as if something turns on for a short period and then it turns off. Is there a part that can be easily replaced to remedy this problem or am I in the market for a new unit?

Please help to save Christmas!

Re: Freezer nor refridgerator is cooling

If the refrigerator has an ice maker or cold water dispenser, check the water line in back of the refrigerator. Be sure to unplug the refrigerator before checking anything. The feed line may be leaking. Repair is simple. Open the connection and wrap Teflon tape around the male end of the connection, then screw it back into female end of the connection.

Refridgerator will not cool. Freezer works fine. Noticed a pool of water on floor then started to cool again. after a few days quit cooling.

Check the water drain hole in bottom of unit. If plugged water cannot get to catch and pan and evaporate with the heating element.

GE regrigerator not cooling or freezing

first defrost it by turning it off for 1\2 to 1 full day,put towels on the floor to catch the water, when a refridgerator gets frosted up it cant circulate the cold air,and if its one with the freezer on top then the cold air cant blow down into the refridgerator, check inside the refridgerator at the top where the thermostat cover is there will be a vent hole,it could have ice built up so much that its totally blocking the air flow. This usually happens when hot food is put in the refridgerator and causes steam,or the refridgerator runs too much caused by bad door seals,or the cooling fins on the back or bottom underneath plugged with dust and the freon gets too hot causing condensation inside the freezer which causes it to frost up,a plugged drain hole will back up water and freeze, the fan in the freezer may have stopped working, which is about a $60.00 part, and finally a bad defrost element (about a $40.00 part)which is a glass tube inside the freezer with a coiled up wire inside it that heats up at certain times to defrost any ice build up,(which is the last thing to check)

Maytag Refridgerator and not cooling or freezing

sounds as if perhaps the overload replay has burnt up on the compressor, you can see it by removing the back cover, unplug unit and remove the starter from the side of compressor. if burnt up or melted youll need to replace it.. before you do i would call the manufacture with model and serial theyve experienced issue with some of these depending on model and serail they may cover repair

Water on the bottom shelf of the Refridgerator

Has the refrigerator got a wet inner back?
Ff this is wet, adjust it until this solid ice 'blobs', bt not encrusted, like in a freezer
The refrigerator may not be cool enough and the natural warm moisture allowed into the cool compartment when the door is open is condensing into fluid before it is cooling sufficiently to suspend the moisture as a vapour. If the cool compartment is cool enough, any warm air admitted ill be chilled before it is allowed to condense, keeping the refridgerator dry.
However, the only drawback is that you will have to monitor it to prevent the build up of excesive ice.
Also, whether the refridgerator is either empty of full willaffe the day to day operation.
Hope this helps.
