When I retune my tv stations how do I get them them in order. Ie BBC1 =no1 BBC 2 = no 2. Other tvs seem to do this automatically ?

There should be an option on the menu screen for the TV or if you are using one of this digital converter boxes, it will be on that menu. Look in the menu and under Channel and you should see add/delete or move option.
However, as you mentioned, usually when you run an auto-scan it is supposed to pick up what your antenna picks up and put them in order. It's especially annoying when it picks up a channel and its blank or no signal. The menu were created so you can delete those unwanted channels. Hope this helps.

My humax won't;t record bbc channels. I have tried retuning the tv.

This could be too much signal thanks to the Freeview retunes going on. Your aerial is more sensitive at some frequencies, so there's more signal power higher up the frequency range. The signals for BBC and ITV are among the strongest ones broadcast. If they are now at a point on the aerial's range where they are too strong for the TV then the tuner will over-saturate. The result is the same as no signal.

Have a look online for a Variable Signal Attenuator. It's a device that can be added to a aerial signal cable just before it goes in to the tuner. The adjuster allows the signal level to be reduced. Watch the TV's signal quality and signal level displays if it has them. As signal level (power) reduces you'll actually see signal quality increase. If you go too far then quality will start to go down again. The optimum point is where quality is highest.

When i retune the program numbers are all jumbled up not in numerical order

The TV channel order was revised with the Freeview retune on Sept 3rd 2014. Once you have completed a Factory Reset and Retune, you then need to complete the sequence by setting your Country and TV region.

TX23 LXD60. Requests a retune each time you switch on

You may lose some channels when you retune the TV as the channels have been rearranged. To locate them look at the EPG although you may still find that some channels are no longer available on FREEVIEW. See the following link for additional information

http://www.freeview.co.uk/_retuneinfo/

If the above process does not work then check the link above for additional information and also visit the accompanying site links below to find more information for your model of TV / FREEVIEW box.

Setup

You have to do a autoprogram or channel search in the menu of the TV.The name of this function is different on some tvs general though in the main menu look for something like setup, channel search scan for channels .if you get it right your TV will begin to automatically start flipping channels and it will find all available channnels

Digital tuning

You'll need to go into service mode and do a factory reset.
To enter service mode you'll need to press these buttons on your remote in the following order:-
Standby-info-menu-mute-standby.You'll need to do it fairly quickly and be patient it doesn't always go into it first time, don't press and hold the buttons.
The service menu should appear on the screen.Use the up /down cursor to scan down to option number 12 (factory reset)and then press the right cursor wait will appear on the screen and the set will go to standby(don't worry this is normal)
Reboot the set and retune and all should be well
