Hi linnik
Just replacing the plain paper with photo paper is not sufficient. You have to tell the printer you are using photo paper.
For you have to select the print preferences /or properties or features (the wording will be different for different printers). Find where the option for various papers and select the photo paper. and do the correct submenu selection as well.
After doing all these print.
Hope this will solve your problem.

Why can't I print in colour although cartridge is quarter full. Cleaning the heads has no result.

It should be an installation or alignment problem. I would suggest you to go through an alignment test, and if problem still continues, uninstall and reinstall your printer

HP c5280 only prints green photos. All other printing is fine. I have put in new hp ink and photo paper. I have tried printing both from computer and with computer unplugged. A print from a website on...

This Problem is based on the Color Management so , The Perfect Solution for this problem is open the Photo or image etc in Adobe PhotoShop then goto Enhance->Adjust Color->Remove Color Cast , after removing the color cast , create a new layer for adjusting brightness , contrast & etc , then finally goto Image Size and change the DPI from 72 to 300 then save the image as JPEG or PNG etc , after saving the image close the Photoshop and open the image using Windows Photo Viewer and take the printout which will come as it is in the System

Ink not dry and significant smudging

there r various modes in the printer in which u have to print .and that u have to select.as you said it is printing properly on ordinary paper.the printer is perfect.the photo paper have less soaking power that ordinary paper.as the photo paper can consume ink but not so quickly as ordinary paper.
u just change that printmode and then check out how it prints.
for example the modes r ----------best mode printing.
better mode printing.
fine mode printing
normal mode printing.
draft mode printing
economy mode printing.
now i f u print in best mode it will consume lots of ink but will take lots of time to print.
if u select normal mode it will consume less ink and print quickly.

u can change the settings in printer properties.
thanks

Won't print black

I found a solution to the Black printing problem :)
Under Printing Preferences: Set your Media Type to Photo Paper Pro.
We used edible ink cartridges and printed onto icing sugar paper. Same old... Just one day it refused to print black. In order to continue our small business, I degraded the color until I printed gray and not black.

Tonight, I browsed for the problem and came across this :)

Hope it helps you too

Trouble printing to photo paper

The paper you print on is not relevant. What happens is the green tint is the actual printer delivering all the colours to give a 'composite' black. On shiny photo paper this is emphasized where as on plain paper the colour is absorbed and shows as intended. So what can you do? Move away from black and go for a tint such as sepia.
