My husband solved this problem...He used a screw to drill it into the top; of the sleeve and the sleeve eventually popped off.

How to remove blade?

If the blade is stuck on then there is likely damage to the hole inside the blade and the shaft sleeve it fits on to so you should expect to replace both or it's going to happen again and again. Brute force is going to be the answer. I have a chain that I wrap around the blade shaft where it goes onto the motor sleeve. Sometimes I secure it with a shackle or radiator hose clip then attach the other end of my chain to my workbench and accelerate the processor motor assembly away. Chain goes tight, big thump and blade flies off.

How do I fix my Kitchenaid food processor? Motor hums but center shaft is stuck and won't turn.

Hi Eric, you are going to have to get the motor out and yes it will be because of the spilled liquid fusing/rusting the motor armature shaft into the bronze bush. Those motors are very expensive so worth a go to save it. You will have to get the plastic sleeve off that shaft first before you can get the motor out. Removal will destroy the sleeve. I drill a hole through the top of the sleeve, side to side leaving about 5mm of meat at the top. I shackle a chain through it and attach it to my bench leg and then accelerate the whole motor unit away in a straight line. The shaft needs to be pointing at the attachment point on the bench or it can slip from your hands creating more grief. It will only take 1 to 3 pulls, 1st one doesn't work do it harder, same with second pull and harder for the 3rd. The chain needs to have welded links or the chain will break. That is far the easiest removal method I have found, other methods could involve hacksawing it down one side being careful not to damage the metal shaft or melting a line down 1 side to split it open with a soldering iron. Once that is off then remove base, detach motor wires from pcb and remove the screws under the plastic caps on top of the top housing. Then it will be working away with levers and a spanner on the shaft and CRC, sweat and time. If you strike trouble after that email me Cheers Ross

The motor post on my food processor has deteriorated to the point my blades will no longer turn (just sit there)Can I replace that part ?Or is it too hard for an amature fix it upper? Is that post even...

If the motor is running, the problem can be that the motor shaft is spinning inside the drive sleeve. Replace the sleeve. That is more common than a motor failure.

Cracked plastic sheath on the motor drive shaft

The shaft is spinning inside the sleeve. So is should not be hard to remove. With a DLC-7SP, I grabbed the spindle with some pliers, channel locks might do well and put a handle of a screwdriver between the pliers and the top deck and pried. Second attempt and it pulled up easily. Place the screwdriver beside one of the top deck screw covers to transfer force directly to the motor. Otherwise top deck would probably break.

Clean the old shaft to remove any contamination.

New one can be driven on with a hammer and block of wood.

Need to clean inside of handle on KitchenAid food processor

The plastic for the work bowl / handle is molded and one piece and cannot be disassembled. My best recommendation is to call Kitchenaid customer service to see what recommendations they have. Within one year warranty, they may replace the work bowl at no cost.

Their toll-free number is: 1-800-541-6390.
