Question about Kenmore 35912 / 35913 Progressive Upright Vacuum
Every vacuum needs to be occasionly taken apart and throughly cleaned. Usually when the brushes don't rotae it's a belt. But sometimes it's because junk gets wrapped around the roller. Things like string or thread or fiber that wounds around the roller and actually eventually binds it so it won't roller anymore or move.
Sucking problems might mean there is an object of some sort stuck inside an area you can't see unless you take it apart first. If it's not in the hose then it's probably in the dirt intake or other suction areas.
I normally take my vacuums apart every 3-5 months and thoughly clean and wipe them down and am always amazed at their renewed sucking and pick up power right afterward even though I know that's why it wasn't cleaning as well.
Unless it's a major motor issue just keep them cleaned and new belts handy.
