Question about Canon PIXMA iP2000 InkJet Printer
Cannon Pixma IP 2000 inkjet
Waste ink absorber is full. how to clear this issue.
Canon recommend that you need to bring the printer to your local service provider, canon will not provide Joe Public with the replacement parts as consumables and even more importantly they will not provide the software to reset the error message.
From what I can see there is a hardware routine type fix for the problem,
1. Unplug power and USB.
2. Open door and hold power button.
3. Connect power.
4. Close door, then release power button.
1. Turn off the printer. And disconnect the printer cable.
2. Press and HOLD the POWER button, turn on the printer.
3. The indicator (L.E.D.) should be green.
4. Press and release the RESUME button, the indicator (L.E.D.) should be orange.
5. Press and release the RESUME button again, the indicator (L.E.D.) should be green.
6. Release both buttons.
If this hardware routine type fix works it is at best merely a temporary fix, and needs to be repeated on a regular basis to keep the printers running. For a more permanent solution you need to combine the fix with the more complicated task of removing the pads and cleaning them. This is where the whole process can go disastrously wrong, the ink is permanent and will stain hands, clothes and furniture if it comes into contact with them. Check out the info on this website and on your own head be it
There are a number of websites which claim to provide the software fixes however using these is a kin to sailing in uncharted waters, it is your own choice however I would be hesitant to recommend it to anyone especially if there are a few government secrets on your hard disk
My advice is to find out how much your local service center will charge you to replace the ink absorber, then decide whether it is worth the expense. And when it comes time to change the printer remember canon's have ink absorbers which need to be changed by a service engineer
