Question about Dell E173FP 17" LCD Monitor

1 Answer

Works for three seconds at a time

When turned on it displays for approx 3 seconds then blinks off. If power switch is cycled off then on again the exact same thing happens. Is this a simple fix, or should I bee looking at a new monitor? This one was built in Feb 04.

If another monitor is used on the PC, it works just fine so that would disprove the no signal theory. When you cycle the switch you can see what is going on on the PC but only in 3 second screen shots and that would also disprove the no signal solution as well. There are several other post that have mentioned replacement of transisters and there are numerous other post on the web of the same problem but not a solution.

Its becoz there is no signal from your PC. Check the input of LCD monitor i think there might be problem with that cable! ?Mostly the cable gets weired in long run. so check thoroughly! It might work. Or else you have to repair the LCD!

Yea that is due to your Internal Circuit Error of LCD screen. You should jus take it to the nearest service station. The only way is getting it checked and repaired at nearest Service station. Then it will work surely.

My Sony KDS-60A3000 randomly turns off, then the red "Power LED" blinks three times repeatedly (not "Lamp LED"). We turn it back on, the process repeats again between 20-60 minutes.

3 blinks of Standby/power LED of Sony sets denotes a SMPS board [G-board] failure. . Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.

What can cause my samsung 46 inch smart tv to turn on and off

Sounds like main board fault. Contact any service technician. These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Eninge lite blinks fast and wont start

Pull any error codes.

The engine light lights up when you turn the ignition switch on, then goes off. After four seconds, if it comes on again and stays on, there is a present fault code. When it is an historical fault code, it comes on with ignition and goes off then comes on and goes off again. I believe in like 4 second intervals. A historical code will not be removed until a cycle of 50 ignition on/of intervals has passed. In other words, the engine light will continue to light two times when ignition switch is turned on, after 50 on/off cycles have passed the historical codes will no longer affect the engine light when starting.
If you will hold the odometer button on the side of the console down, and turn the ignition on and off, three times I think, waiting for the fuel pump to stop before turning the ignition switch to the off position, and one second until you turn it on again, the third time holding the odometer button down until the engine light begins to blink it will begin to blink in a fast sequence showing the fault codes will follow.
First indication of fault code display is rapidly blinking engine light. After that count the number of times the engine light lights up. There will be a brief pause between digits. If there are multiple codes stored, the rapid blinking will separate each. Once the fault codes begin to repeat, you have gone through all stored codes.
Tips: Have a pencil and paper ready.
Maybe ask a friend to help out. Sometimes a second pair of eyes can be good.
Go through a couple of cycles, so that you are sure you haven't missed any codes.
One example is if it blinks 3 times, pause, the blinks 2 times, that means 32.
Code 32: Rear Fuel Injector

Machine will not spin or drain water.

I have a problem with my MW512AU. Sometimes it drains after wash cycle, but sometimes it sticks when it goes to spin, doesn't get up to speed, water comes on for about 10 seconds and shuts off, and it tries to spin again. If I hit the wash progress switch it goes directly to final spin and works ok. I then have to run a 2nd wash cycle to rinse the clothes. I also noticed a buzzing sound when I turn on the power point, which lasts about 3 seconds before stopping. It will come back on every 3-4 minutes for 30 seconds. This is with the machine power switch off. It powers on normally.
