    Hello 2bob_watch,

The above hardware refers to an access point. And I think I totally fried it... I even found the schematics and tried restarting it directly from the flash rom chip on the board. I am under the impression that the firmware does not even attempt to load, I know it is not trying to get an IP via DHCP, and the default IP 192.168.11.100 does not respond to ping nor are any ports open at all.

Have any ideas? It still works as a hub, but I could have used another bridge to expand my wireless network.

When you say you tried to upgrade your firmware, are you talking about in your router or your Access Point?

i would consider a dlink access point. All my wireless appliances run of it and it run smoothly. Even both my internet cameras run and don't miss a beat. Remember when you update you firmware make sure your Access Point is wired as you run the risk of damaging it when you update the firmware wirelessly

The following wireless access points/routers have been tested for use with the SoundBridge and SoundBridge Radio. While Roku is unable to provide testing results for all available wireless access point and routers, the vast majority will work fine with your SoundBridge product. We encourage you to try using your SoundBridge with your existing wireless equipment, regardless of published result before replacing your current hardware.
The current SoundBridge models, M1001 (connections on the back) and SoundBridge Radio R1000, use different wireless hardware than the older M1000, M500 and M2000 models (connections under the endcaps). This newer hardware has proven considerably more reliable than the older wireless hardware and should work out-of-the-box with virtually any 802.11b-compatible wireless equipment you may have. Compatibility of the older hardware has been improved over time and we recommend that you upgrade your SoundBridge's software to the latest version as soon as possible, particularly if your SoundBridge was delivered with software older than version 2.3.44. Upgrading older software may require using a wired ethernet connection or even taking your SoundBridge to a neighbors house or your office to sucessfully perform the upgrade.
To check your software version and perform an upgrade, use your SoundBridge remote control to navigate to the menu Change Library or Configuration -> System Configuration -> Software Version and Updates and follow the on-screen instructions.
If you still experience Wi-Fi connection problems, check the following items:
  • Make sure your access point/router is configured to allow 802.11b devices to connect. This may be phrased as "Mixed mode" or "802.11b +802.11g".
  • If you have wireless security enabled, make sure it is a supported protocol, and make sure you are using the "Hex" key. See your SoundBridge manual for more information.
If, after checking these items, you still cannot get your SoundBridge to connect to your wireless network, we encourage you to contact support or visit our Roku Community Forums where other customers and Roku employees will attempt to help you.
Bold = recommended by Roku for use with the latest version of SoundBridge software.
Red = poor performance or incompatible with SoundBridge
* = customer tested - your results may differ.

I've had a new laptop but require my security key, model WBMR-G54 to access the security enabled network, from my old laptop.

If you've forgotten the wireless security key you entered when you set up the router you can reset it by connecting to the router directly with an ethernet cable instead of the wi-fi. Plug a cable into the router and then laptop and access the setup page for the router. See the manual (or download one from the buffalo site) for setup instructions.

My son's ipod cannot connect with our internet? Also, when friends bring their computer and try to get on internet at the same time as I do, it will not let them on unless I am off internet.

You may want to check and see what kind of connection limitations are in place.

The router should have a static IP address *(like 192.168.1.1) or something close to that written on it.

You can use your web browser to log into your router and look at the settings.

Go to the Buffulo website for specific guidance on your model router.

Choose from the menu.
You also find manuals and set-up guides there.

If the power went out...it could have serged the router...try holding in the reset button for 30 sec....if no luck there take the router back where you purchased it and tell them it is faulty and needs replaced.
