Sir i lost my wireless network name and my wireless network password

to get back you wireless information, first you have to connect you laptop hard wired to the router using the ethernet cable, then open a browser and access the firmware of the router, usually for dlink routers, the default gateway to access the router is(,but if you don't know the default gateway, you can go to the network connection by typing (ncpa.cpl) in the run box or the start search from the start menu. look for "LAN or Highspeed Internet or Local Area connection" then right click on it and select status. Note:make sure that the laptop is propperly connected via network cable.
you will have the "status" page.

for winXP: click on support tab and look for the "default gateway"

for win vista and win7: click on "details" button and look for "ipv4 default gateway"

The "default gateway" number including "dot" needs to be typed in the address bar of your browser.
The router then will ask you to enter the username and password, which is located in the back on side of the router. After you got to the router page, on the left pannel, click on "wireless settings" there you will see you wireless information.

WTF! internet used to work perfectly and now my wireless router is on the fritz and the status light keeps flashing! i have to hook my comp up to the wall to write this message

If the status led light keeps flashing there is a problem on your ISP side. Router is trying to establish connection with internet. Please check led light status on your modem (not router). Also please try to change position of your router as it might be in a "dead spot". For more info about your router please visit:

Status light isn't lit

If status light won't lit, there might be inside hardware problem in the router or maybe just the led is broken. Does your router still works just the status light wont lit or status light won't work plus the router? If the 2nd case is true then the router may be broken.

DI-624 problem with wireless network

Buy the N router! That is the only solution. My signal weakened and went from the whole home to less than two feet if that at times. I bought the N router and it worked just like the G one did when I first bought it. Ya think somebodies got the limited life span worked out?

Unable to detect my router

This is because your router is setting your pc at a different IP address than your original modem. Make sure router is set to enable DHCP which gives out an automatic ip address and check your wireless card and network cards are set to obtain ip address automatically. It may take a few re-starts to get on the internet as your systems will need to clear their previous DNS settings. Also i assume you have set up the home network wizard (XP) as you are now using a router and not a direct modem. Also try Start>Run, then type ipconfig /flushdns then press enter.
