The cord to my window blinds accidentally got sucked up by my Dyson DC07. Is there a way to get the cord out without cutting the cord?

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

This would depend on exactly where the blind cord is stuck. If it's wrapped around the rotating brush bar you should be able to retrieve it by removing the soleplate and unwinding it - this should prevent you needing to cut it.

DC07's soleplate is quick and easy to remove - just use a coin to undo the catches which hold it in place for easier access to the brush bar:

Hoover windtunnel vacum..belt is rotating..brush is belt keep coming off

More than likely, there is hair or fibres caught up in the bearings binding them. There are usually 2 screws you can remove on the bottom of the vaccume that allow you to remove the plate. The back part of the plate usually locks in with tabs. Remove the plate, then pull out the brush. The bearing will come out of slots. Remove the bearings, and more than likely you will find hair or fibers wrapped around the shaft on each end of the roller. Remove the material, reinstall the bearings, roller and plate and you should be good to go! :)

Carpet brush not rotating

Did you check the drive belt for the roller? If not do so, the smell was the belt drive burning up.

Floor level brush stopped rotating after it caught

Look at the bottom and check a thread of carpet isn't wrapped around the brush, if so try pulling it off or carefully cutting it off. You'll probably see a collection of fluff etc above the brush that's stopping it from sucking up, pull this out, or it just may be that cause the brush isn't working its not picking up.

Stopped running

orecks have a plastic fan inside and everything you pick up hits it, sometimes things can get stuck in there or break the fan locking up the motor. With the machine off, poke around where the dirt goes into the motor, behind the roller and see if you can pull anything out.

Vaccum has no suction

Here is what we did to fix the problem of our vacuum having no suction.
We unscrewed the three screws on the back and took the hose off of the vacuum.  Then we took the hose outside and put the water hose through the vacuum hose and turned on the water.  After about 30 second the water pushed through a dust bunny the size of a fist and a marker.  Basically, the vacuum did not have suction because the hose was clogged with dust, etc.  After reassembling the vacuum, it worked just fine.

I had the same problem with my vacuum. I called in for technical service and was told to push the "reset button". It turns out that there is a small red button right next to the dirt indicator light. I pushed the button, plugged the vacuum back in and started it up and it worked like a charm! :) Hope this helps!

Dyson vaccume cleaner

Remove sole plate by turning 3 plastic screws to unlock then pull plate off.
Check belt has not snapped.
If your machine is all floors with clutch check that selector knob on front side of machine goes to (D) or drive when you pull the handle back.
Let me know how you get on.
