I feel ya pain.
I had this problem and it was severe for about 3 weeks.
What I did one day when i was on the bus and just messing with it was while the card is in and while the error screen comes on, take the battery out and put the battery back in and it should come back on and load.
If not then your card is probably either corrupted or your sd slot is could be damaged

Yea the same thing is going on with my sidekick LX right now. Try kicking up your sidekick, and clicking the jump button. go to settings and then systems info.
then proceed to hold down menu + shift + D (the letter)
it'll take u to the diags test selection. uncheck everything except SD Card Dectection. (just as a heads up remove the back cover of your phone and the memory card)
then click start tests. if it still says it cant read your memory card (like what mine did) then u need a new phone. u bought a defective one.
