Try holding down the power button for 15 seconds.... otherwise take out the battery by unscrewing the back

My daughter got a Polaroid mp3 player model PMP 180-4 for christmas and now does not want to turn on, what can be done to fix it?

I was able to reset my daughter MP3 while it was plugged in with the USB cord and then charged it fully and it works fine now. It appears I also had to adjust the on/off button.

No it doesn't have to be fully charged as long as there is enough battery to turn on and play music it'll turn on it'll also remind you if the battery is low

Hi it very much sounds like the on board batttery is not charged up, (not charging) hence when you plug into the PC it gets it supply from the USB 5Volts and plays as normal

Even when the battery is fully charged(3.6v) the player turns off by itself in a few seconds. However, when connected to a PC, it continues playing normally.

Barbie mp3 quit working

You have to change the battery. To do that you have to take that thing off on the back of the MP3 player and unscrew it to change the battery.

It will not play music

I was having trouble with my daughter's MP3. The RCA website said to download Pearl Firmware (Version 2.) ( I did, several times, but it would not work. Finally, I cheked the box "Format Data Area" under Download options. Once I did this my computer immedialty saw the Pearl and I was able to re-load all my daughter's songs in Media Player.

I hope this helps. I was so worried that I was going to have to buy her a new player.
