Question about AOpen XC Cube EZ65 Barebone

1 Answer

Hi there, my daughter turned the power off at the wall(whilst the system was running, importing music etc) and now the unit won't turn back on at all. i let it cool down with power detached, then reconnect power supply, still wouldn't turn on. i left it over night and it restarted the next day, with no apparent problems. i turned it off before going out, and it has not restarted since... what to do? it seems dead. i've tried turning the swith off and on at the back, the only led to come up is the one on the card reader, which lights up both green and red led's, after a couple minutes the red one turns off, and the green remains. so power appears to be getting to the unit, it simply won't boot up at all.

From your description I would hazard a guess based on 32 years of experience that you have a power supply problem. It will need to be replaced. You may want to invest $35 in a UPS (uninterrupted Power Supply) system

I have a Craig jukebox Bluetooth model CHT935BT-BLS..after turning on it plays music for 15 minutes than shuts off,I power it back on than it shuts off again

Sounds like its either low on power or the memory in it is to full to operate. To check the power issue does the unit run on built in batteries that need charged or is it a fixed ac power unit that plugs into the wall? If it plugs into the wall ensure the plug os securly connected both to the unit and inyo the wall receptacle too. If its a built in re-chargeable unit plug your charger into it for at least 6 hours and then try using the unit again if it doesnt shut down this time it was a low battery; however if it still shuts down try removing 3 -4 of the longer or bigger music files from it and then try using it again and see if it shuts down. Hopefully this will help somehow.

Remote shows no response

I have just had a major problem trying to get the handheld (touch screen) music centre to communicate with the multi room interface. It took over a week to sort out by trial and error, but here is the solution :
1. Disconnect everything from the multi room interface apart from Room A and the CD player (blue connector).
2. Turn off the electricity supply at the wall (turning off any in line extension lead is not good enough - it needs to be at the wall socket). Leave turned off for at least 2/3 hours.
3. Turn back on and then leave it again for 2/3 hours.
4. Touch the music centre and you should find that it has now registered with the interface unit.
5. Connect the other rooms and input sources with the power switched on (contrary to instruction manual which advises you connect everything before powering up).
6. Test each input systematically as you connect them.

Hope this helps. I was on the verge of buying another multi room interface (I have 2 music centres and neither worked so assumed in was the interface at fault), at a cost of £200, so now glad I persevered with resetting the system !

You need to tunr the power off at the wall socket. Leave the unit off for at least 5mins. Then whilst holding the power on button on the unit down, turn the power back on at the socket, keep the power button depressed for at least 5secs. When you release it you should see -----------------, in the display. The unit has just been reset to factory mode. All features should now be present again. Hope this helps.

Unit on standby will not start up showed f17 error

First, remove the power cord from the wall, wait for about 20mins, plug it back in, then try again. If that doesn't work, then it means there is a fault.

Your unit being stuck in standby mode is an indication that its having a power problem. Remove its plug from the wall and fix it back into the wall, then turn it on again. If its still stuck in safe mode, then the power supply board in the unit is the cause of the problem.

The power supply board might be defective and maybe that's why the unit won't power up. Its receiving power but it cannot transfer the current to the necessary part of the unit because a capacitor, diode, etc may have been faulty. Until these bad components are replaced, the unit might not come on.

To actually find out what's wrong, you need to disassemble the unit with a screw driver and check what's wrong. You will be needing a meter in order to test the components on the power board, once you detect any bad component, you can make necessary replacement at any electronics accessories store withing our vicinity. This is the only way by which you can detect the problem.

Of course, testing the power board with a meter will require someone that has the ability. So it you can't, then you might be needing the help of a repairman or you can call a friend that has the ability to help you out.

I wish you the best of luck.

Mix max won't play music, turnoff or charge

If it is not recognizing by the computer, not turning off, or recharging, then you have a problem with the battery in itself (or battery related components).

You probably won't be able to get a battery replacement for that unit.

With anything, when a computer system, router, MP3 player, IPOD, etc. has problems functioning correctly, there is more than likely a power issue with the unit.

LG Xtremo LM-M1040, and over the last few months, when listening to music, the system turns it self off. To rectify I have to disconnect the powert from the wall socket for a number of seconds then plug it...

I suspect that this is a design problem guys. The fan in this unit is fine, it only turns on when volume is turned up high & fan speed varies with volume.
The problem I think is the STRX6759 on power board. The aluminium heatsink is too small to dissipate enough of the heat from the device. You will burn yourself touching it!!
The STRX6759, whilst I can't find the datasheet on the component it looks to be a voltage regulator with a thermal cut out. When it gets too hot (probably after an hour) it cuts itself off to protect itself until it has cooled enough. Then you need to turn unit off & then on again to reset.

I am modifying a friends unit with bigger heatsink but damaged a coil. If anyone can kindly supply me with coil. Part Number: LF902 please contact me: ian873 (at) (in Sydney, Australia)
