Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. If you have checked everything then the only thing left is the power cable or the in house fuse which is not getting it to work. If all this has also been checked then you need to get this new one replaced as the unit itself could be faulty.

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks Rylee

My tv is not 'seeing' any of the hdmi devices plugged into it.

surge protectors do not work very well. They dont really stop mildly high voltages. If you can plug the Directv receiver into another TV and it works, then you have a bad digital board in your TV.

I have sound from satelite box through bose 321 but no picture on tv

First, you need to run the coax cable from your satellite dish to the "cable in" input on the back of your satellite receiver, not the Bose. If your satellite receiver has an HDMI OUT, and if the Bose has an HDMI IN,run hdmi OUT from the rec. to the Bose IN, then keep your HDMI connection from the Bose OUT to the TV IN as is. Make sure you've selected the correct input on the TV menu. As it is right now, you're not delivering any video signal at all to the TV!! -only audio(red and white). There are a couple other ways, but they won't give you the same quality. I assume this is HD, right? If you CAN do it this way (i.e. if you have enough HDMI ins and outs), it's the best possible hookup and you won't need the composite (red, white and yellow) at all. By the way, it's the yellow connector that carries the video signal; the red and white are audio left and right. If you can't hook it up all HDMI, disconnect the "separate cable" (I'm not sure what that is or what kind of cable or what it's for)and plug in the yellow connector into video IN on the Bose.

How do I eliminate the humming on my Vizio VHT-510 system

see this instruction and fix it. God bless you

Disconnect the coaxial cable at the back of the satellite receiver or cable box by unscrewing the coupler on the cable end.

    • 2
Attach the cable to the RF IN jack on a surge protector and tighten the coupler clockwise.

    • 3
Connect a second coaxial cable from the RF OUT jack on the surge protector to the input on the cable box or satellite receiver. If this stops the hum, congratulations: You're done.

    • 4
Unplug the subwoofer's electrical cord from the power strip or wall outlet if it is connected to the same circuit as the AV receiver. The amp in the AV receiver and the amp in the subwoofer are in conflict over the grounding of the electrical circuit.

    • 5
Plug the subwoofer into its own surge protector and connect the surge protector to a different wall outlet than the AV receiver uses.

    • 6
Disconnect the subwoofer cable from the back of the sub and the AV receiver if all other measures fail to stop the humming. Reverse the plug connections so the plug that had been connected to the receiver is now connected to the subwoofer. Turning the cable around may solve a problem known as ground-loop hum by reversing the shielding wire inside the cable.
