You are not connected. verify your connection ... go back to the DeMark if necessary. Check your telephone book for specific instructions if necessary.

Also, check for a telephone that is off hook elsewhere in your home.

Panasonic cordless phone kxgte474 does not beep when I have a message from my phone co. I have the base answering machine turned off. What am I doing wrong?

It won't beep. Take the phone off-hook, and listen for the dial tone. Interrupted dial tone is the signal you have messages.

WHEN I CALL MY HOUSE PHONE IT DOES RING BUT YOU CANT HEAR ANYTHING AND THERE IS NO DIAL TONE IN IT

you have a line fault. Phone your telecoms company. Often they can fix it at the exchange or on a pole, or the junction box outside your house.

I have a KX-T7130 phone system with intercom. for the last 4 weeks, every phone will ring once and then the call gets hung up before I can answer it. I can use every phone to call out, but just can't...

Most likely NOT your phone system (anonymous)

Neither is it likely accidental...

What it sounds like you are getting is a "ring splash"

It is a token ring to let you know a call was forwarded...

My best suggestion would be to call YOUR OWN
number and find out who has been getting your call...

Or at least what kind of TREATMENT your callers have been getting...

Since this is a GLOBAL SITE... I would suggest you consult
your service PROVIDER.. for the appropriate enable & cancel CALL FORWARDING.

BELL-SYSTEM Codes to invoke and cancel

Codes: *72 and *73: respectively

Forward... *72 = ("star, seven, two")

*72 (wait a second dial tone) dial tone + (forward number)...
If the call is answered the FORWARD is complete...
(confirmation)

Else
Repeat the SAME dialing PROCESS
(OK: indicated by two stutter dial tones followed by dial tone).
((confirmation)).

Cancel FORWARD...
*73: To CANCEL forwarding... *73 = ("star, seven, three")

(again OK... Success is indicated by two stutter dial tones followed by dial tone (yet another confirmation))...

Hope this helps...

Dial tone on speaker-phone but no dial tone on line 1

Either button mapping or no dial tone at the system cabinet. If your desplay sas CO1 and you have no dial tone, go to the sytsem cabinet ans swap the modular plugs for CO1 and CO2. If the No Dial Tone moves, "mus be sumpin wrong wit yo lines".

I cant get my phone to work. I get no dial tone and it says connecting but never connects. incoming calls ring but i cant answer

dear
There are a number of things that could be wrong. It really depends on what kind of circuit you have. Is it strictly copper or does it come from a pair gain system? I have had trouble calls for this very reason and I isolated the trouble to a pair gain card in the field. Have you tried dialing out when you have no dial tone? Most people don't realize that dial tone is not a requirement to make phone calls. It's an added feature that lets people know that it's working. It could also be a high open. Just means that one side or both wires of the pair are close to being broke and sometimes very hard to see. I would keep calling because they won't know you have trouble until you do so. Plus you will have documentation that it's an ongoing problem. Good luck.

or

Another possibility is a shunt caused by spiders or whatever. These can get much worse when it get's wet. They might clear on a ring too.

I'm voting for number 1 unless there is more info provided.

I'd provide Verizon with the RENs of all the phones added up. There is probably a 1/2 ringer or (1/2 REN) in the NID.

You need to determine if it's inside or out.

No dial tone ,gets incoming, but cant hear anything, they cant hear me

Generic answer

You MUST get dial tone to talk or listen. Your base may ring but this may be unrelated to the telephone signal.

Check all wires and all settings. Are yoju certain your hand set is a member of your telephone group?

No dial tone from the residence and when calling residence from a different phone different place some one answers phone states "you called wrong #"

Those are probably two different problems.... no dial tone could mean service hasn't been connected yet or has been disconnected. or if you using a wireless phone it could be an issue with the phone

Calling a number you think is the right number and getting the wrong number is mostly because you are dialing the wrong number. You should be able to call your local phone company and get this resolved pretty quickly since they will have all of the answers you need.

Dial tone

I disconnected the RadioShack phone/answering machine and plugged in an old phone. At first I didn't get a dial tone, but in a minute or so, I did get one. I doublechecked the connection with the incoming phone jack. (I had checked this before, but didn't see anything wrong.) Again, I didn't see anything wrong, but maybe that did it. Also, when I disconnected the RadioShack from the incoming phone jack, I disconnected from my computer (I used to have dial-up connection).

Don't know which of my actions worked, but now I have dial tone on Radio Shack.
Hoooooooray!!!!
