Question about Vacuums

Vaccuum Burnout? Is there a reset button on the Infinity Shark Vaccuum? The vaccuum got plugged with a dryer sheet and the motor may be burned out but I'm not sure at this point. Can anyone suggest what to do? Cheers, Vince email:

Re: Vaccuum Burnout?

Will the brush turn by hand ok, or is it froze up, some models have a reset on the back near the bottom, there could be a fuse, take the bag door off, near the top of the vacuum, there maty be a cover to remove, if there is a fuse it would be in there. The motor protector may be bad as well as the motor. Your vacuum will just have to checked over to find the problem.

My shark infinity vacuum has no power to it. It just quit mid vacuuming, almost like the wires inside got got pulled out. Is there a problem with loose wiring or motors burning out suddenly?

Sounds like it needs cleaning.
Remove all filters, clean or replace.
Clean motor.
Clean brush rollers.
Clean everything.
There is an inline fuse which shuts off power if too much dust, hair, etc blocks incoming air.
It resets after awhile, when van cools down.

The brushes wont turn, but it has good suction for the hose

you have to remove the bottom cover to inspect the belt. Usually if the brush is jammed, you will smell an odor similar to burning rubber. In the absence of that smell, its likely the belt. Its easy to replace

Smells like the motor is burning. observing sparks. It the motor cooked and is it just time for a replacement?

If you're observing sparks, then yes, just get a new one. With the low prices of good vaccuums its not worth starting a fire with your vaccuum. If it just smells like the motor is burning, check the belt and make sure its rotating freely and if you have an attachment, make sure the brush on the vaccuum is not being stopped while using the attachment. However, if you are seeing sparks,,,, definately time to junk it

Gen 3 model Kirby vaccuum won't start

Checked your bag if they are full, if bagless check your filter. If still not working maybe the protected temperature fuse blown out. You need to open it and replace the protected blown fuse.

Dry/Wet vac is blowing instead of vaccuum

Check to see if the plastic ball is stuck . There should be a ball under the motor , make sure it moves freely. Make sure your vacum lines are not plugged . Best of luck Ed.

hi there'
common possible defective is that motor is not functioning, several factors can be check if you have a knowledge on electrical and motor
circuit you can easily diagnose your problem on your vacuum.
check the switch by your multi tester,if there is a continuinity resistance using multi tester.if no continuity replaced switch
check the carbon brush of the motor if worn out, replace two pcs. of carbon mounted inside the motor casing
you can check also the continuity of electrical cord and plug.replace if if plug and electrical cord is defective.
finally the motor has winding coil,at both end of coil of motor check the continuity, there are two coils of the motor.if burn out replace motor w/ two pcs. of carbon brush.
besure to unplug the vacuum before doing
this and this should be done by qualified technician on your service center.have a nice day.rate my fix.thank's a lot
