I don't know for sure what piece you are talking about but go to Searspartsdirect.com and type in your model number and you can download a breakdown for this tool along with part number and prices. Let me know and if I have answered your question would you please rate this response accordingly.

With the staple exit facing toward you (don't squeeze the handle), find the small black square at the bottom (opposite end) from staple exit. Grasp both sides. Pull away from gun (not down). Chamber will open.

Can't get the staples to go in. It's a sears

Pull out the part that loads the staples, turn the gun upside down, put the staples in the bottom of the gun and push the loader back in. It took me awhile to realize that you don't load them on the piece that pulls out of the gun.
Cheers.

Inserting brads into my Stanley TR250 Staple Gun

I bought one of these guns today and I had the same problem and it took me about 2 hours to figure it out as the instructions were very poor. Here how to load the brad nails:-

(a) Pull the slider bar all the way out
(b) Place the brad nail stick on the left side, IN FRONT OF the slider, NOT in the narrow gap in front of the two arrows where it says "LOAD BRADS"
(c) The nail heads should be facing the handle of the gun
(d) Close the slider and lock it
(e) Try it out. I tried nailing hardboard onto chipboard. The lever at low power only put the nail in about 30%. On Hi power it went in about 80%.

Good Luck
