Have my earphones on but can not hear music

You could try using your earphones with another device to see if they are working properly. For example, I think my earphones have a broken wire in them because when the earphone plug revolves up or down in the jack the sound cuts out. When I turn the plug around a little, the sound comes back. (I am sure you had the volume turned up :)

check your wires that they arent to bend, they can break if they gets to bended, try with a different pair og earplugs, if that doesnt help the jack connecter is broken in the device

The volume on my coby 600 mp3 player is very very low. i can only hear very faint sounds from the music file and most of the radio stations, although a couple of radio stations come in at a volume i can...

There could be multiple reasons for this. Is the volume at maximum? Were all audio hardware fully plugged in? It is possible the audio jack for this device may be worn down or damaged.

After looking at common opinion regarding this device, it would seem that a lot of people had complaints about it having low volume, perhaps this is a defect from Coby.

My earphones won't work

Usually this is a problem with the wires in the earphones themselves actually being broken or the connection on the earplugs is too small. I suggest borrowing another pair of earphones to make sure the problem actually is in the Zen. If another pair works, you know the issue is the earphones. If the problem remains even with different earphones, take a look in the earphone jack hole to make sure nothing is stuck in it like paper or something. If everything is clean, the earphone jack or its soldered connections inside the Zen may be cracked and will require the unit to be opened and serviced.

Music not coming from both earplugs.

Buy another- seriously. You can view this video if you want to try to replace the headphone jack, but you will probably cause more damage in the process:
