Either the pop off valve is bad or the regulator...Also check for leaks in hoses going to tanks.

Unless you can hear or confirm a leak, your compressor's valve is damaged.

Vt558705 campbell hausfeld sounds like running good but not build up air in tank

Sounds like the compressor itself is bad. If it's an oil-less one, the connector sleeve for the motor and compressor may be bad.

Builds up air pressure ,motor shuts down

We are distributors of all plastic materials, including complete fabrication of plastic parts, components and assembles like Acrylic sheets, polycarbonate sheet and UHMW.

1)Turn off your compressor or disconnect the power.
2)Remove the connector tube that sends air to the tank.
3)Remove the head bolts on top of the pump.

I have a model FP209501 Air Compressor 2 Gallon,

2 gallons is small to begin with u need to buy an in line pressure adjuster/regulator their a few bucks and can be attached to the paint gun or line and will keep the pressure at ur adjustment the regulator on the tank sets the tank pressure at 50 so when u us it will let it drop down to about 45 than start up to build the pressure up to 50 than shuts off than repeats it self the inline keeps pressure steady even if tanks are at 200 psi

Compressor runs hot and won't build pressure

THE COPPER LINE IS SUPPOSED TO GET HOT, SCALDING HOT ACTUALLY. THE MOST COMMON REASON FOR COMPRESSORS NOT BUILDING PRESSURE IS CLOGGED AIR FILTER OR THE VALVES IN THE HEAD ARE BROKEN OR NOT OPENING AND CLOSING CORRECTLY. YOU MAY POSSIBLY HAVE A BAD AIR LEAK DOWNSTREAM BUT YOU CAN CLOSE THE DISCHARGE VALVE ON THE TANK TO ELIMINATE THAT PROBLEM. HOPE THIS HELPS OR GET YOU STARTED.

Does not put enough air in tank

You either have a faulty or out of adjustment regulator.

Husky comp on 1st start builds up 75 lbs and wont restart

Check the reset button on the motor to see if it tripped. The motor may be overheating. Some motors have an internal breaker and they have to cool off before they restart. Also check the pressure switch. Move the switch back and forth ( on and off ) and listen for a click. If it doesn't click with low to no air pressure then the switch is bad.

Tank size question

Tank size only becomes a factor for one reason – A larger tank for air. A compressor will run until the pressure in the tank builds to its high-pressure point. Obviously, the bigger the tank, the longer it takes to consume the compressed air. However, the downfall is that once the air is depleted, it takes a lot longer for the air tank to refill with pressurized air. I would only go with the bigger tank if I am concerned about the motor starting and stopping too often, or if I know that I will need a constant flow of air in longer intervals. You have a choice between a larger tank and a constant-run unit.
