Question about Proscan PS52650 52" Rear Projection Television

Can these TVs still be repaired

I was told parts could not be found I avae one of the original proscan 52""
ps52652 screen comes on but looks like a convergence issue of some sort

when i turn it off I see the three color dots in the center then they pan away form each other screen goes black

ny one know what I am talking about here

Can be fixed see bad connections on flyback and bad fuse comeing off theis connections should fix

if you are doign this yourself, you can look on the individual parts inside the unit. if you are not doign it yourself, just take it to a professional. Repair costs can be 150USD to as much as 500USD on modern TVs be it projection, LCD, LED or others.

The color on the screen is greenish blue. no real color. can that be fixed?

If your TV looks 3D, warped, or distorted it likely has a convergenge problem. If however it just looks dull, washed out, redish, or if it looks like objects on the screen have halos the fluid in the lens has soured. You can search google for parts or you can get the parts with repair instructions from sites such as

We have lost the power cord to plug into our Proscan TV model: PS52652 chassis: PTK169PDBS. where can we find a cord to purchase?

Check with techs that repair these sets or any tech. If they cant find the right power cord they can allways take the power cord from another name brand set and wire it in.

Also, the proscan ps52652 has the ctc-169 chassis. This set is a 52" manufactured in 93.

The fuse fails when the convergence power supply fails,putting a new fuse in the set will let the unit come back on but convergence is not working,check in screens in the menu to see if you have adj. projection t.v.,if the is not in the menu,replace reg ic part number 215530 on the convergence power supply,this board is above the right module mounted on the black plastic.,hope this helps

my son cracked our screen protector and instead of paying two or three hundred dollars to replace it we had plexy glass cut at Lowes and put velcro striping around the edges and looked as good as the original and has held up great for five years now.

Powering off and on

reheat the board.....this could happen that the tv board will get heat after a few minutes then the loosen suspected part will totaly open.

Turns on and off !

If you have no electronic experience and do not know how to troubleshoot electronics, then yes pleaqse call in a pro to assist you with this repair.. It hard to tell whats wrong with a set that is in a dead condition. It could run you anywhere from 50 bucks all the way up to 1200 depending on if a main board has to be replaced. Good Luck
