Can't list

Hi there!

There are different reasons why you can't list an item. First if your account is suspended or has a selling limit. But since you are able to create your selling account then you should be able to list an item. First you need to check your payment method on file, make sure that you have a credit card on file to increase your selling limit or a premiere or business paypal account. Next, once you created your draft, you will see that again if it didn't list. Go to sell and then click the list button and then you will see the complete button on the right side. Click it so that you'll see the sell your item form that you used to create the draft. Then since you already created your selling account, just go to the next page until you see the List your item button. Just click it and you should be able to list your item. If eBay will not allow you, you will see an error message. If you do, please reply in this message.

there are different types of selling limits, for example you can list up to 10 items or $500.00 in a month, usually this is for new sellers or those who doesn't have a established selling activity on eBay. there is also the category limit, wherein you can only list 1-4 items per month depending on what you are listing. for branded items, you need to be a verified right's owner or a dealer of that said item so that you can list more of it. for more info about selling limits you can contact eBay and you can ask for the safe harbor department. they will give you more information about selling limits.

I hope this helps a bit.

In order to place an item on ebay to sell is there a forty cent charge for each item, no matter what the item your selling is?

You are partially correct in your understanding: there is a fee just for listing an item to sell. It is not, however, a flat 40 cents. eBay uses a graded insertion (listing) fee system that depends on the starting bid of the item you list. Below is a summary of the tiers, with the starting bid range on the left, and the insertion fee on the right:

$0.01 - $0.99: $0.10
$1.00 - $9.99: $0.25
$10.00 - $24.99: $0.50
$25.00 - $49.99: $0.75
$50.00 - $199.99: $1.00
$200.00 or more: $2.00

Listing upgrades, such as bold titles and additional title lines, will incur additional fees.

eBay currently waives the insertion fee for user's first 50 listings per month. This policy may not be applicable to all sellers, however, and it does not encompass listing upgrades such as those listed above.

There is a buick for sale in Philadelphia,Pa. and I live in that city and I sent the person 3 e mails that I was interested in his car and would like to see the car. After three e mails still no answer....

First check if there is an item number (12 digits) and if there is then locate it on or at Check if there's a listing like that. You will need to log in to your eBay account so that you can bid or buy it now the item. If you don't have an eBay account, then you need to create one.

If you see the item in a different site, do not continue. eBay will not cover that item under the buying protection if it's not listed on their site.

Here's how the REAL transactions work on eBay:
1. buyer sees the item listed on eBay
2. buyer buys/bids on the item ( Checking an reading the item description with an understanding of the item that they want to purchase)
3. buyer wins item (the buyer can now request the phone number of the seller if the buyers has concerns about the item.)
4. buyer's name appears as winner on the listing
5. item number appears in "Items Won" in buyer's My eBay page
6. seller sends an invoice
7. buyer pays the seller (buyer does not pay eBay)
8. seller ships item/ buyer picks up item

I hope this helps. Have a good one! Don't forget to rate!

PS: Also, do not send check, money order, wire or bank transfer. Check eBay's Accepted Payment methods.

I am a first time ebay seller, and when I set up the sell, I kept making changes, at the end before I clicked on to pay, the page closed. I went back in and set up a new sell item, but I am concerned that...

Unless you push the button EDIT changes, your item will remain the same without any changes. If you do double list, just contact EBay's help centre, I'm sure they will cancel one of the listings.

I purchased an item on ebay and i decided i did not want it any more and i made a bid how can i delete that off my list?

If you have made the winning or at present the highest bid then you have legally commited yourself to purchase the item. If however you are neither then you will have to wait until the auction is over and then delete it from your "didn't win" list
hope this helps

On eBay UK every time i try to delete an item Firefox crashes!

try using a different browser, you can use flock which is also powered by mozilla. you can download it at or you can use internet explorer. the new firefox is not yet that compatible with eBay so I suggest that you need to use a different browser. But you can try to delete the cookies and cache of your computer.

In my ebay pictures are not showing, but show in the listing

For future reference, if you find that you have deleted the images from an active listing that was posted through Auctiva, provided that the items have not received bids and have more than 12 hours left, you should be able to restore the images in the description via the following process:

1) Locate your listing in your Saved Listings folder, make any necessary changes, and save.
2) Click the " icon to the right of the item on your "Saved Listings" page
3) Select All and copy the html in the popup window.
4) Locate the item on eBay and click the "Revise Item" button.
5) Scroll down to the "Description" section and then click the "HTML" tab above the description editor.
6) Delete the existing description HTML, paste the copied HTML in its place, and save your changes.

In the event the item in question has already received bids, you could potentially add the missing images to the bottom of the description using the "Add images" tool on the Active Listings page within your account.

If you need any further assistance with this situation, please feel free to contact our customer support team using the web form on the following page of our site:
