Question about HP Pavilion dv9700t Notebook PC
Remove the battery and disconnect from power source.
Disconnect any USB or external devices.
Remove the hard drive and memory. Disconnect the CMOS battery in the memory compartment.
Flip unit over and hold power button for 30 seconds.
Re-install memory and hard drive.
re-connect your CMOS battery.
Power up unit without battery installed.
Boot into safe mode.
Go to a command prompt.( start, programs . Acc. , dos prompt or command prompt.)
and type chkdsk /f
You will get a message that says can't run know but would you like to run a next bootup ? Say yes.and and type exit.
Next, reboot unit.
