Re: belkin/problem with connection

Heres something I stumbled upon whilst searching for connection problems with this router. Worked for me (when all else failed - including a phone call to Belkin!)

Right click "my computer" and select "manage"
Click the + next to "Services and Applications"
Highlight Services, and in right hand pane find entry for "DHCP Client"
Double click on it, make sure start is "auto" and the service is started.

I take no responsibility for the above information, it is advisable to make a registry backup blah blah blah....

You tried turning it off and then back on the router, sometimes they just need to reacquire the ip

To connect to the network in your laptop without entering a PIN code, please follow these steps.

1. Connect the computer to the router with an ethernet cable in one of the grey slot in the router.

2. Open up internet explorer and clear the address bar and type in and hit enter.

3. You will find a belkin router setup page, In the left hand side under the heading Wireless click on Wifi Protected Setup

4. When it asks you for a password leave it blank and click on submit.

5. There change Wifi Protected setup to disabled and click on apply changes.

6. Then in your laptop connect to the wireless network without any PIN number.

Thanks in Advance!

With Regards,

I have installed a Belkin G Wireless Modem Router-F5D7634-4 Internet connection is fine, but I'm not able to connect with wireless connection. Can someone help me to configure this please?

You have to configure your router's wireless setup. To do that, you need to connect you computer/laptop to your router using ehernet cable (cat5). Once you're done, open internet explorer/firefox and enter your router's ip address (can be found in your manual or at the back of your router), you will be ask for username and password (just enter the default if you dont change it before, username: admin , password: none/blank. depends on manufacturer). After you provide and entered those information, you're now on the setup proccess. Just go to wireless setup menu and select your options there. Remember, enable DHCP for the router to automatically assign an ip for your computers. Goodluck!

I have purchased a Belkin Wireless G Router for a cable modem. I have installed however i am unable to see the wireless network. What have i done wrong ??

Hello experts....

My problem is not being able to work wirelessly with my laptop. My answers to your questions are underlined(I've used your questions to someone elses problem)

One possible issue is your router's wireless radio is not enabled- the light on the router is lite on the symbol for wireless

or the wireless radio is not enabled on the computer you are attempting to connect to the router with - there is a switch on the front of this machine which is switched to wireless.

There are many other possibilities as well. That is why we need you to carefully answer EACH ONE of the following questions.

(01) Which of the following is your router?
-->> F5D7230-4 (Wireless G Router)

(03) Are ANY of the computers connected to your Belkin router able to access the Internet?

(04) If there are other computers connected to the router that are able to access the Internet, how are they connected? (in each case, please)
only this machine is connected but it is by....
(b) wired (using an Ethernet patch cable connected between the router and the computer)

(05) What is the manufacturer and model number of the computer you are attempting to access the Internet via the router on?

HP Pavilion dv2500

(06) What operating system is installed on the computer you are attempting to access the Internet via the router on?

This machine is operating on Vista but the internet access I have is with talktalk

(07) Have you ever successfully connected (wirelessly) to the Internet from the computer you are attempting to wirelessly access the Internet through your Belkin router on?

I hope you don't mind me using your questions to someone else, I thought you might be able to figure out what I'm doing wrong. I am connected to the internet but don't seem to be able to work wirelessly. Lorraine
