My dryer is not getting hot,What should I do?

  • Anonymous May 11, 2010

If it turns but stays cold, clean any filters(this should be done after each load) and make sure the airvent/outlet is not covered. somewhere on the back of yor machine should be a reset switch/button, whch protects against overheating, push this in. If it still stays cold the Heating Element probably needs replacing. DIY if competant or grab the yellow pages.

Gas dryer wont get hot

The first thing to check is the thermal fuse. It is located in the back of the dryer, and you need to remove the back panel to get to it, which involves taking out about a dozen screws. To check it, unplug the dryer, pull the wires off the thermal fuse, connect them to each other with an alligator clip lead, plug the dryer in and see if the dryer gets hot.
