My whirlpool duet electric dryer needs several cycles to dry normal load of clothes, dryer is 6 yrs old. Is it the heating element or could it be something else?
if its hot,the element is probably ok,seeing how old it is ,and im assuming its worked well for you,the first thing i would do is un plug it pull it out from its spot and clean it ,check vent for lint buildup, remove back of dryer, fan and dryer lint holder areas get built up with lint paper and whater ,was left in your pockets, make sure the are clean, element then can also be tested with continuity setting on volt meter, most of the time you can see the damage in the element without a meter,if you have never taken a dryer apart before,i reccomend finding a friend with some mechanical skills to help,be carefull ,always unplug it first, hope this helps, aloha from maui todd0708
