Question about HP JBL Platinum Computer Speakers
So, I had this old computer, a Compaq, running Windows ME with Compaq JBL Platinum Series speakers that attached to each side of the monitor.
I got rid of the computer and monitor, and kept the speakers. I bought a new Compaq computer and monitor running on Windows Vista. The speakers were built-in, inside the monitor.
So, about an hour ago, I brought out my old speakers, so I can use them with my computer. I plugged the speakers in, and a message on my computer would say 'You just plugged a device into the audio jack', so I thought it'd work. Sadly, no sound came out. On the Realtek HD Audio Manager, it says the speakers were plugged in, but sound still didn't come out. I noticed on the speakers, the button was pressed, but the power button light wasn't on.
So, basically, I plug speakers in, computer says it's plugged in, button light on speaker is off, no sound. Confused.
Change the audio and sound device setting in the control panel. try to change the speaker setup
