Danby Designer Dishwasher sprayer arm stopped working

My Danby freestanding dishwasher was working fine until today. It seems to do everything ie. go through the cycles, pump water in/out except that when its running the sprayer arm isnt working at all. Does anyone know how to fix this?? Thanks.

Sorry, it is a countertop dishwasher.

  • rustneversle Oct 05, 2009

No. When I turned it on earlier there was something in the way and I moved it.
The sprayer arm was working for a few minutes but when I came back I could tell something was not right because of the lack of noise.
    Thanks.

Is anything in the way of the arm? Sometimes you can't see an item sticking down too low ... interfering with the spinning.

Lower spray arm siemens aquastop dishwasher doesn't rotate

Sprayers require water to pass through the jets to provide motion to the arms.

Suggestion;

Remove the sprayer from the machine and look for blockages. (Removal should be easy, at it is expected that the user will need to clean the jets occasionally; If you have any problems removing it, consult your manual).

Indesit idl 705, tablet not dissolving and crockery still dirty, was working fine. Sprayer arm seems to not rotate freely

Clean EVERYTHING and ensure it's assembled correctly.
The sprayer arms have an unlocking ring and can be rinsed, the filters must be washed and rinsed and properly reassembled.
Even cleaning the door seals can help.
Test again, clean again (as more muck can be circulated).

Water not flowing into Danby 18"

Okay, this might seem crazy, but it worked. I spent the last 2 days trying to contact Danby customer service to no avail, so I came back here to look for solutions. Found two:
(1) Someone said to open the little rubber cover under the front right of the machine...I couldn't find such a cover.
(2) Someone said to pull off the front plastic panel...mine doesn't seem to be removeable.
So! I turned my Danby DDW1805 upside-down (!) to see if I could locate the aforementioned rubber cover, and a bunch of water drained out of the machine. This is what both solutions above said I wanted to happen, so I flipped it back right-side up and hooked it back onto my faucet.
Golden. Works perfectly again.

Dishwasher not cleaning/water sprayers not spraying it appears

I had the same thing recently. Everything appeared fine mechanically, but no water would spray. I inspected the bottom arm as closely as possible and actually found a half melted clear plastic straw inside of it. 30 minutes, tweezers and a small pick eventually got it out and all is fine.
