Question about Compaq Presario 5000 PC Desktop
Based on the limited information you provided, you could likely have a corrupt operating system, or possibly a hard drive issue. Assuming it's an operating system issue, you might be able to bring the system back by using the supplied restore CD or your operating system CD. Using the CD's, if you have an option to repair (instead of completely overwriting) the operating system without loosing your personal data. Otherwise, you may have to wipe and reinstall the operating system and drivers, which would likely mean that all of your personal data will be wiped in the process.
If you give me more detailed information about your system, it would help me isolate the issue and maybe find a better resolve for you. I would need to know the following:
1) Are you aware of any symptoms that might have lead up to this issue?
2) What operating system do you have?
3) Where there any changes made to the system before this issue occurred, such as hardware or software changes?
