Question about Nikon COOLPIX L3 Digital Camera

Open Question

Nikon Coolpix L doesn't has no power

Replaced batteries (checked to make sure they were fresh)
If I plug into USB on computer, after a while it has enough power to turn on, and later to turn off. Unplug, and it doesn't work again. Have not tried to download, as I have a card reader to do that.

SOURCE: USB not recognized, no safe removal icon, wont switch off

I had the same problem. Nothing seemed to help, I even re-installed Nikon View. This helped, though. After you've connected the USB cable to both computer and camera, twist the camera end of the cable towards front of the camera. It seems like either the cable or the socket in the camera is damaged.

Coolpix P80 camera doesn't turn on when I plug in the data cable?

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Nikon Transfer or Picasa.

I just treated myself to a new laptop with Windows 7. Now my Nikon Coolpix doesn't unload when I plug it into the USB port anymore. Do you have any idea how I can unload it?

NIKON COOLPIX S205 WHERE TO PLUG CHARGER IN??

the same cable that came with the camera for USB is also the battery charger cable if you use usb. most of these cameras can be charged from computer or from the wall. so that little jack that your usb cable plugs into is also the charge port, just make sure you have rechargeable batteries in it.

My Nikon Coolpix S3000 says battery exhausted, but when I plug into charge it won't charge. Any suggestions?

The rechargeable battery probably needs to be replaced, I would take it to a camera shop let him have a quick look to make sure the charge light is coming on and try a new battery.

Nikon COOLPIX S51 Digital Camera Charge usb

The S51 does not charge via the USB. Connecting the camera to a computer merely drains the battery faster, since the camera has to expend power communicating with the computer (even if it's only to say it has nothing to say).

The S51 comes with an MH-62 charger, which plugs into a wall outlet. This allows you to charge one EN-EL8 battery while using another in the camera.

If you need a charger, you can order one from Nikon at
http://shop.nikonusa.com/store/nikonusa/en_US/pd/productID.213504000
or a third-party one for about half the price at

Keep putting new batteries in Nikon Coolpix L11 but keep saying low battery???

Hi,

Check if the charger is working. If yes Firstly, make absolutely sure that you have a pair of fresh HIGH QUALITY batteries, in fact go and buy a couple of duracells. Digital cameras are notoriously power hungry and it is very possible that a pair of cheap standard batteries will not be able to run it for more than a few minutes. Check that the terminals of the batteries and the camera are clean. If none of this works, and you did have fresh alkalines or equiv. then it will have to be returned for repair.

Thanks.

My Nikon Coolpix L3 camera won't power up. I've checked the batteries and they're okay. I've tried connecting it to the PC with the USB cable, but still nothing. The last time I used it was about 6 weeks...

This camera will not run from the usb. It needs batteries or an adapter. Some small digital blister pack kind of cameras can run from the usb power from the computer or other source.
Make sure you have full charged batteries.
Take the batteries out, and check for corrosion inside the battery compartment. If any is there, clean and try again.
Take care,

General USB Troubleshooting

While USB connections are significantly faster and easier to set up than older serial or SCSI connections they are not foolproof. Here are some tips: Be sure to connect the cable properly One side of the cable is "keyed" so it will only fit properly one way. Do not force it in if it does not smoothly connect. Notice how the USB plug is "keyed" and will only fit properly in one direction. The USB connector on the back of the computer. Connect directly to a USB port on the computer. While USB hubs allow many devices to connect to a computer they are not always reliable for high-speed connections like digital cameras. Connect to a port on the back of the computer. Many computers have extra USB ports on the front or on the keyboard. These are generally built-in hubs which may cause problems as described above. Connect to an AC adapter or use a freshly charged battery To prevent problems during transfer be sure that the camera has enough power to complete image transfers. Remove other devices To troubleshoot problems, remove any other USB devices and connect just the Nikon product for testing.
