SOURCE: Dell 1702FP 17" shows nothing after Radeon HD 2600 put in.

Is the card plugged into the (PCI/AGP) slot correctly? Did you disable the onboard video in the bios? Also be sure to check in windows device manager and check for the graphics card to appear there.

SOURCE: Dell 1702FP monitor is frozen. Video Select

biljet, If you move the unit to a different pc, or swap-in a KNOWN GOOD monitor to prove your pc is working perfectly, then your monitor will need to have some work done on it's power supply to get the "cold-cathode-fluorescent-lamps " to light-up again. Don't feel bad about it! 25 to 50 of these things get struck down every day of the year (all brands) with what has become known as "the BLACK SCREEN OF DEATH" If you are not skilled with basic use of a soldering iron with a fine point tip, you will do one of the following: Trade up to new wide screen lcd and the store technician will put in $4-$6 in parts into your monitor and use it at his house for a spare. He may even want to sell it back to you for $40 so you will have a spare LCD on hand. Then again You might contact DELL and see if they have a cash+old swapout program that will get you a REFURBISHED unit to use. Or you will contract out the work to a local TV/monitor repair shop that knows all about "cold-cathode-fluorescent lamps" and their power source called an "inverter circuit", which gets powered from the "switch-mode-power-supply". All these things must function to produce WHITE LIGHT so you can see WHAT is on the LCD panel. If you need more info on how to do the work yourself then get back to fixya with a comment to your original post. Bye for now. I'm 12fix louie on fixya aka louie12fix If this was of some help to you, please rate this response on fixya.

Dell 1702FP gets off automatically or lose power by itself!

i think the power cord to your monitor is not fixed tightly. check the connections. or else the power On / Off button could have got damaged. replace it with the new one. if still the problem exists, servicing of the monitor will be the solution to it.
please rate my solution.
have a nice day.

It might be a failing electrlytic or a heat-related issue with a transistor in the power supply, or it may be a problem in the video board. Sounds like will need good old-fashioned component-level troubleshooting.
