Question about Bose Lifestyle 38 System

Media center not working

I just set up the lifestyle 38 system, everything was working fine until I tried to instal the adapt IQ. Now the whole media center is not working, I can not turn it on or off, or get the DVD out. I tried taking out the power for 60 sec as it should reset but that doesn't work either.

Do you have a solution?

Re: Media center not working

Be patient with the media center. It is processing a huge amount of information and takes time to complete.
First unplug the media center power at the plug in the rear. Leave it off for approximately 20 seconds. Remove the AdaptIQ head set plugged if it is still plugged into the AUX input.
Power the system back on. Leave it alone for 2 minutes while it re-initializes. After 2 minutes or so you can press the "Open/Close" button. It may take 30 seconds before the tray releases. Just give it the time and it will open. This is a common occurence after running AdaptIQ. For future reverence, after doing the AdaptIQ process, turn off the system "All Off" and unplug the headset then leave the system undisturbed for 10 to 20 minutes. After 10 - 20 minutes it will be ready for use.

Depending on what series you have, you may have to install the VS-2 (Video Enhancer) Software on the media center (AV38) before you attempt to make a connection.
Most importantly, you have to connect the AC power adapter of the media center through the VS-2 enhancer and plug the VS-2's AC power adaptor into the wall. Hope these help.

Want to test to see if bose lifestyle 18 works.

Hi sorry but what do you mean that you have lifestyle 18 system? The lifestyle 18 system consist of the media center/DVD player, the bass module, the satellite speakers and the RF remote control (aside from tons of cables)

If you have the media center/DVD only, then you require the power adaptor. you can test if the media center is functioning if the LCD display is working. you can also connect an external powered speaker or an amplifier fro mteh AUX out behind the media center.

Do note that doing so will only give you limited control of the system since you require the whole lot to make everything work properly.

Glad to be of service.

Lifestyle 38 and HD

I have also have this problem with a lifestyle 28 system. Bose sent me a new cable then a software update. The problem remained, after contacting Bose and unplugging cables and powering down the system this solved the problem. However 2 days after and the problem has re-appeared. Back to square one. I should add that this is the second unit I have had the retailer exchanged the last one because of the same problem.
