Question about Microsoft Broadband Networking MN-500 Wireless Base Station (L21-00001) Router

Loosing Connection between MN500 & MN520

When I first boot up my systems, I get a good connection with my wireless.  After a few minutes (5-15) I loose connection.  After that, I can't get a connection.  Even if I put the lap top within 5 ft of the base station.   I've removed all security settings on the base station and laptop.  I've changed channels and reinstall the software on both computers.  Nothing helps.  What now? all of a sudden all my configurations were lost after 3 yrs

Re: Loosing Connection between MN500 & MN520

If you are using XP, and installed the proprietary WiFi software (not the built in XP software), did you turn off the Zero Configuration Wifi SERVICE? Running both will cause issues with your connections..

Start > Run > services.msc (ok)

Computers have limited connection to linksys wrt54g although signal is full strength

Limited connectivity
If you get a 'Limited connectivity" on you wireless connection on your laptop, it means that the wireless card on your laptop probably did not get an IP address from the wireless router.
To fix this problem, right click on the wireless icon on the Task bar and then click Repair.
This will force the wireless router to issue a IP address to the wireless card on the laptop.
Also try resetting the wireless router by turning off the power to the wireless router for a few minutes and the boot up your computers.

WRT120N---I keep having to disconnect my linksys, unplug all 3 wires on the back of the router, wait 30 sec...reconnect the router...try to get online...when it works then reconnect the linksys....what am...

Please disconnect and internet link and try to access the the Linsys WRT100 management page and see the logs why the router is loosing the connection. If you dont get anything then it might be some issue on the device. A reset may solve your issue.

Please be aware the if u reset the wireless Router you will loose all your configuration and you have to reconfigure the wireless Router.

Please press the tiny black button at the back/beneath of the wireless Router and keep pressing for 2 minutes. The sys light will start blinking slowly and then rapidly. then release the button and wait for 2 minutes for the device to boot up with factory default settings.

Once you are done you can connect to ip address and it will open the your Linksys Router management web page where you can reconfigure your wireless router again.

Hope this will fix the issue.

Best Regards

Good Morning, I just set up a Netgear WG111 802.11g Wireless Adapter on one of our laptops yesterday. The problem now is that it keeps loosing connection every few seconds. Can anyone help...

If your Operating System in your laptop is windows 7,this is a known issue. You need to have the updated drivers on your netgear wireless adapter. If you are using windows vista or XP there should be no problem. Can you also provide me the model of your laptop?

If you have a router, check the physical connections to the router and reset the router. If still a problem, the router could be faulty.

Contact Sky Broadband for them to check their connection.

Hope this helps.

Linksys WRT54GX4 - SRX 400 Router Internet Connectivity Issues

I had a similar issue a while back and found that sometimes modems are finicky with the MTU settings. I had to throttle mine down about 20 points to get it to stay connected. Check with your provider. Their Tech Support should be able to tell you if there is an alternate MTU setting at work here.

Why does my WGT624 keep loosing connection. I would be on the Internet and for some reason, I would loose connection to the Internet. I have a Dell Inspiron...1521 computer.

In my case too this happened initially with my lenovo y410 laptop with netgeat router. In laptops if th ewireless network is set with "public" profile then the connection is sometimes dropped by the driver. If you or only a few persons are the only user(s) of your router and your WLAN is securely encrypted, then you can change the wireless settings of your laptop to be in "private" network, which will solve your problem.

I have a 2wire att router that loses internet connection

try this it worked for me. If you use Chrome go to tools, options, under the hood and un-check Predict network actions to improve page load performance, I have no idea why this worked I just know that I have not lost my service since I did this. I stumble around a lot and was always getting the message no broadband service or something of that nature. One time chrome suggested that I try this (no idea why chrome suggested this) so I unchecked the box and now I no longer have the problem of loosing my connection. I was loosing my connection a lot 10-20 times an hour.
Good Luck

Internet Connection

You know it is not your connection nor is it your modem. Contact your isp and ask them to release and renew your ip lease. Then connect the router and retry. Should be good. Otherwise contact Microsoft

choose 1 from the confusing menu. The line is free, open 24/7 and there is no
