How to load Integrated Wireless LAN on my toshiba satellite a45-s1202

If your Toshiba Satellite notebook computer is equipped with a wireless Internet card, you can connect to a Wi-Fi access point by turning on the wireless switch on the side of the laptop. However, the signal may not always be picked up by your wireless receiver; if that is the case, you will need to check your wireless-network settings and reconfigure the network connections manually.

Open the Network Settings program. Click on the Control Panel in your "Programs" bar and select "Network Settings." This will give you options for modifying how you connect to the Internet. Select "Connect to a Network" or "Show Network Status and Tasks." Both selections will show you whether you are disconnected from the wireless network. Select "Manage Network Connections." This selection is located on the left side of the window; clicking on it will show you whether you are connected to a local area connection or wireless network connection. Engage the wireless connection. Turn your wireless switch to "On," then right-click on the wireless network connection. Select "Connect/Disconnect." Wait for the IP address acquisition. It may take a few minutes for your Toshiba Satellite to pick up the signal and transmit your IP address. When this is complete, you will see the word "Connected" next to the name of your wireless connection, and a series of bars that indicate signal strength. Launch your favorite browser to access the Internet using the wireless connection.

What is the wep password

The encryption key secures your data from unauthorized access.
The router's password is a Passphrase or the WEP or WPA orWPA2 encryption key. The Passphrase generates the WEP or WPA or WPA2 encryptionkey and this is in the router's wireless settings. To connect to your wireless router, it needs the router'swireless settings configured ie SSID, WPA or WPA2 encryption key and also thewireless cards in all the laptops and or computers needs to be configured withthese router's wireless settings. Then the laptops and desktop computers cancommunicate with your wireless router.

How do i set up my hp laptop to wifi

Please Understand wireless network settings and setup:

Wireless networks depend on special-purpose radio receivers and transmitters that substitute the exchange of messages over the air for the exchange of messages that occurs over wired connections on conventional networks. When you power on your PC, Windows Vista automatically searches for available wireless networks.
The network icon in the system tray, shown in Figure 1, enables you to view a list of local networks that Windows Vista detects. Notice that the network icon in this figure is marked with a red X, which indicates no network connection is currently established.

hpsmb_laptoppcwireless-fg01.jpg
Figure 1: A red X indicates no network connection is active.
When you click this icon, a window opens indicating you're not connected to a wireless network, as shown in Figure 2.
hpsmb_laptoppcwireless-fg02.jpg Figure 2: The detail window for the network icon provides a link to create a network connection. The window also includes two hyperlinks: Connect to a network and Network and Sharing Center. Click the Connect to a network link to open the Connect to a network window, shown in Figure 3.

it doesnt make any difference in what coutry you are. if you say it works at home it should work in other places too.
check the ip configuration. if you have static ip&dns try to switch to automatically (dhcp). If dhcp is already set ask for network settings because maybe the access point you are trying to connect to doesn't provide dhcp or it has mac filtering.

Still Having Trouble with Wireless Network

Hi ther Jeff!

Let's check the IP address of the laptop. You said that it is connected to the wireless network "linksys". Go back to Control Panel>Network connections. Right click on wireless network connection then click Status. Then, click on Support tab and tell me the IP address you have in there. Click details to get the DNS server addresses.

Let me know these information. You are right, there could be proxy servers enabled in the browser that's preventing you to open a website. What version of IE are you using?

On your IE browser, click TOOLS>INTERNET OPTIONS>CONNECTIONS. From Connections tab, click on LAN Settings. Make sure that there is nothing enabled or check on that window. Then click ok.

Go to Security tab. Then click Custom Level. Look for the option "Reset Custom Settings to" which you will find somewhere at the bottom of the page. Set the custom settings to medium-low. If there is no option for medium-low, then select the lowest option. Click ok all the way out and try launching IE again.

Do a ping also to a certain website and tell me if you'll be able to get responses from that site. Open up command prompt. START>RUN>CMD. Then on the cursor, type ping yahoo.com then press enter. Take note of the ping statistics.

If you have Internet Security firewall enabled in the laptop, turn it off. It can cause a conflict with your router's built in firewall.

Please update me about this incident.

My dell laptop will not connect to linksys 54g ,why

Let me try to solve this. Please try to see if the wireless antenna switch (physical switch) is turned on. For Vista, please click on Start-Connect to- then please select your network. If it says you are connected to the network, please click on "Open Network and Sharing Center to see if there is a red x mark between "network" and "internet". If there is none, please launch your browser (Internet Explorer) If there is, please click on that red x and see what is the message after. If it could not be identified, please contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP). If there is no problem with your ISP, please go to Start-Control Panel-Network and Internet-Internet Options-General Tab-Delete (Under Browsing History)-Delete All. After these, please try to launch your IE. You can also download the latest driver for your wireless network adapter using a different computer if the first offered solutions did not work. Please let me know if any of these works. Thank you.

If the laptop is working then your router is probably working correctly. Is the desktop wired to the router or running wireless?

IE will not connect to internet

First I am not connected with the product that I am recomending in any way shape or form.

On a wired PC download Network Magic (the free version is all you will need). Burn a CD with it and install on the laptop. Bring up Network Magic and use it to connect to the network. If it can not find the network, run Network Magic on your wired PC and bring up the Network Map and look to see if you can see your router on the network. Log into the router and start by reseting the wireless.

I use this product on all my laptops and desktops it makes networking simple.
