My screen on my tv was dim for about 3 days and then when i tried to turn it on i heard a popping news and it now will not power back on.

The problem of your unit is the lamp, try to replace new lamp follow this instructions. Unplug your unit to main AC outlet, remove the protective panel. The location of the lamp assembly will vary, try to read the owners manual before proceeding. The removable lamp assembly is at the of the TV, either on the back or at the side. Remove the small screws that hold the protective panel in place and slide off the panel. Disconnect the lamp assembly. Loosen the one or two screws that hold the lamp assembly in place. On some units, the screws will loosen but remain attached to the assembly. Hold the plastic handle on the lamp assembly and pull the assembly straight out. Note do not touch the bulb with your bare hands. Insert the new bulb assembly. Replacement lamps are usually sold pre-installed in a plastic assembly. Do not touch the bulb. good day and best regards.

Its relly easy to replace Lamp Look on your TV for a small Panel that you can remove without having to take the whole back off but if you have to just remove the whole back Lamps most of the time have 2 screws holding them to chassis once you know the location of Lamp and have small handle you can pull out if you are ording Lamp with out housing make sure you wear rubber gloves you do not want your fringer prints on new lamp what so ever! you can burn prints into Lamp once it gets hot Once you have new lamp install make sure back is on before turnig on.

I think on this model, you will need to remove the lower front facia. There are 2 thumbwheels located on the back side of the TV near the lower left and right corners, unscrew them and then firmly grasp the panel and pull from one end. It will seem that the panel is going to break but you have to pull hard to pop it off. Once the panel is off, you'll see the lamp door with its own thumbwheel. Unscrew it and remove the door. The lamp is held in place by 2 allen or hex screws. You'll need an allen wrench of the proper size to remove them. Make sure the lamp is not hot, and then pull it out. Reverse the procedure to install the new one.

Location of the lamp enclosure

Pull off the front silver panel ... it is about 3' long and about 4" wide. It pulls off easily. below this panel on your left side you will see a small black panel held in when one Phillips screw. Remove this screw and the panel will slide to your left. This exposes the lamp unit which in turn is fastened with one brass coloured screw. Loosen this screw (screw stays attached to the lamp housing) and then simply pull the lamp unit forward to remove. Word of caution ... do not remove if the lamp is hot ... wait until it cools down. This procedure sound difficult but is really quite simple. I have replaced my lamp on twice already.

Where to locate the lamp assembly

Look at the TV from the front, on the stand just under the TV there is a panel. Reach around the ends of the panel and you will feel the fasteners that hold the panel on. Unscrew the fasteners and the front panel comes off and you will see the lamp in the front center.
