Question about Apple iPod touch
Hold the lock button and the hold button at the same time until you see the apple logo. This performs a soft reset and should fix the problem. Also, make your version of the software is 3.1.1. Good luck!

I would attempt to reset the Ipod first. To reset iPod touch, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least 10 seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
Once reset you should have a normal functioning ipod once again.
However if this does not work please do let me know.
