Very hard to explain without seeing unit. easiest way is to by thermocouple first so you know what it looks like and they generally come with instructions. It will be located in direct path of pilot light. its function is to tell the main gas valve is ok to open because pilot light is on as a general rule they are not hard to replace but i do recommend buying one by unit model number b4 trying to take out the old

The thermal fuse is a safety so if you have an obstruction in vent line from the back of dryer to the outside the fuse will continue to blow until the airflow obstruction is cleared.

I don't believe there is an external thermal reset. It is most likely built into the motor.

WATER HEATER GOES OUT OVER NIGHT

you either have a back draft blowing out the pilot light, or a bad thermal coupling. if coupling is bad it will shut down the gas flow therefore shutting off pilot light. its a safety measure to stop the gas flow if pilot goes out. replace thermal coupling, that may do it. good-day ! but shut off gas first !

Why cigarette lighter does not work?

80 Series cig lighters have a fuse and a thermal couple, as do most cig lighters. The fuse will blow if too much current is drawn but if an acceptable but high current is drawn for a long period the thermal couple may blow.
Note: the thermal couple can not be replaced like a fuse.

Pilot light is not staying lit. woke up to cold water.cleaned flame sensor. still no luck. any ideas?

sounds like a bad thermal coupling! if the coupling goes bad it will shut gas supply off as a safety precaution. it acts similar to a thermometer, if its bad then you will not get any gas through. it is screwed into gas valve and shuts the gas off. have a good day!! replace thermal coupling!

Burner does not stay on .replace the gas control thermostat

it may be the thermal coupling. because if its bad it will shut the gas off. if the coupling gets hot on the end, it will turn gas on. it has to be in pilot light flame, to turn gas on. change thermal coupling. good luck !!

Oven does not work but ignition continuously clicking

The thermal couple on the gas valve is not working, if this oven is old the thermal couple can be replaced independantly of the gas valve,
if is's newer the whole valve assembly must be replaced. if you have never worked on gas appliances call a pro by the way the valves run about $125.00 you might want to consider replacing the appliance
