Cant use cable internet

Going to assume the LAN port doesn't have drivers installed. Is it a card, or onboard (built onto the motherboard)? We need either the card model info or the motherboard's make/model. From there we can track down the drivers that should fix your issue.

I have a Netgear Wireless N150 router. It has been installed on our 2 computers. However, I had to reinstall Windows Vista on one and when I tried to reinstall the router, it tells me "No working...

Sounds like the driver for the network adapter has not be installed following the re-install of vista

to verify
go to start-->control panel-->System
Click on 'Device Manager'
Look for any devices that have a question mark or exclamation mark next to them
I suspect you will find something like 'Ethernet controller' which wont be configured correctly.

You will probably need to download the driver, using your other machine and then transfer to the problem machine and update the driver

If you need help identifying the driver then please provide details of the make/model of your PC.

If this doesn't solve the problem then let me know before rating this answer and I'll try to help you further

Good luck

If your having problems using your USB drive on your computer, navigate to your computer manufactures website and download the drivers for your specific PC's model number. If you built this computer from scratch, navigate to your motherboards manufacture, or installed card readers site and download the USB controller drivers from there. Then you can try windows update from the control panel to see if it can find the network adapter drivers for you. Don't just install any drivers you can find, be model specific.

Reinstalled xp now I can't get on the internet. Network adapter did not install

Is your network adapter built onto the motherboard or is it a separate card?
If it is built in, with a little research, you can identify the model of the motherboard in the computer and download the latest drivers from the motherboard manufacturer. If it is a separate card, you can install the drivers again from the CD that came with the card or visit the card manufacturers website to download drivers there.

PC says no ethernet card (NIC) after reinstalled

First make sure the card (if a stand alone card ) is properly set in place (you'll have to open the computer and manually test it . Do this with the computer off!). If this is not the case or, you have the card built into the motherboard, you should re-install the drivers from your original installation CD. Otherwise you may need a friend or, atrip to a library/colleg etc, to download the proper drivers.

My computer will connect but with limited access. Inspiron 1525. All other computers in the home work but not mine. Does this mean I need a new network adapter? Repairing and diagnosing does nothing

Go to:

Select Enter Your Service Tag Number. This will create a list of all the drivers needed for this PC. Be sure to select the correct Operating System.

Then select the NIC or Network Drivers, Wireless Drivers or Both. Get the most recent version and install them on your PC. If the card is just having connection problems, but works, it could just need updates on the drivers.

Good luck...

I delete my sound card and now I don't have sound on my PC. I don't know, what to do.

If you have the sound card cd, insert it in your cd drive and install software and drivers otherwise go to control panel, click add/remove hardware and have it detect any new hardware automatically...if it asks for sound card cd, insert it in your cd drive and install drivers....try to update your driver by going to the sound card manufacturerse websitethen download and install latest software and drivers....

Wireless driver problem

I am currently using Linux on a Compaq C500 with a Broadcom wireless adapter. Sounds like your wireless adapter is on of the ones that uses the b43 module like mine.

Aside from using the correct module, you also need a firmware image. Instructions can be found at:

Hope this helps and good luck with Linux! Once you fully switch to Linux you'll never go back to crappy M$ products!

Device will not start code 10 message

Code 10 means DRIVERS COULD NOT BE INSTALLED. Try installing the drivers manually.

Do this if pc is XP.
1.Keep the wireless adapter connected to the pc
2:Go to control panel, add/remove programs. Remove the wireless adapter software
3:Restart the computer, when the found new hardware wizard shows up click on it, click NO NOT THIS TIME, then select install from a list of specific location. On the next page Click on DON'T SEARCH, I WILL CHOOSE THE DRIVERS TO INSTALL.

5.Click BROWSE to set the location of your drivers
6.Open the driver folder, then the pc should copy the files.

Good Luck
