I have a hotpoint HSS25GFPJWW fridg. The coil that opens the flapper door for the ice was bad so i replaced it . Now when i push the leaver in to get ice the fridge shut's down like ther is a large power drain. This was doing this before i replaced the coil but the flapper door was not opening then now it opens. It evens shut's the compressor off.

Your "freezer" and "refridgerator" temps are not jumping back to 14 and 44 respectively. When you change temps, they both wait 3-5 seconds before they revert back to a temp reading, not a temp setting.
Does your "freezer" make any loud or thumping noises? If not, do you hear a quiet whisper when both compartment doors are closed?
Solutions could be :
1. Servicing the coolant (might have a small leak)
2. Checking the seal on your freezer compartment (black rubber that meets the metal frame)
3. Your internal cooling fan is not operating and needs replacing (but I think your temps would be significantly higher).
Best of luck.

Check to see if there is any obstruction (object of any kind) in the ice cube mold area. If nothing found, you will have to replace the icemaker, as individual repair parts are not available.

Our GE GSS25TG side-by-side just started doing exactly the same thing - no ice/water coming out (although buttons & light work), and the temp controls are blank. Did you find a solution? We unplugged it, waited a few minutes, plugged it back in, but no go...
I am Having the same problem right now, called GE custom support they don't stand behind their products
We're seeing the same issue. Fridge is less than three years old. We unplugged for several hours, plugged it back in, but no difference.
Does anybody have a solution?
I noticedthe food in the fridge side wasn;t as cold to the touch. I put thermometer in and temp was 58. Wow! I called my usual guy to check, but it will be Mon before he can get here. Food in Freezer is now getting softer. Guy at shop said it could be the "heaters", the unit is now 15years old, If anyone knows normal lifetime for GE side/side refrigerators please let me know Ree
We are having the same problem with our PSC23SGRC SS. Display lights are out and humming sound gets louder and louder.
